Where do you girls usually buy your bras? Any very good salesperson from the outlet to recommend?

It's time for me to shop for some new lingerie, but it's always a hard time for me. Any good places can recommend?

Somehow I prefer to go to their retail outlets.
I find the salesperson at departmental stores are usually older ladies. Prefer younger ladies to attend to me. tongue.gif

What kind of experience are you looking for exactly?
Basically what I do is, walk into the shop, look around for the patterns I like, give it to the sales girl following me around and she will guide me to the fitting room. If fits good then I take, wrong size then take another size (or bring few sizes to test one shot).

Would be easier if you go online and browse through some of the sites.

That would give you a rough idea of what you want. Then see whether what you want is available locally or not.

Most of the nice stuffs are however, not available here rolleyes.gif

I would say go to the retail outlets if you want to buy lingerie. I dont like the sales assistants at dept stores as well. The younger ones mostly dont know what they're doing or not experienced enough, they always give me the wrong sizes. While the older ones always recommend me those bras that i dont like. If you go to a retail outlet everything is displayed and its easier to find what you like.

I don't have much experience either but I guess salesperson also depends on luck. Just go and check out the retail outlets. If you see something you like, then just try it on. If you don't like the sales girl, then try another shop. smile.gif

Parkson just had their warehouse sale. I saw Wacoal bras for RM35-40 per piece, but simple t-shirt bras, nothing fancy.

Coming back fr overseas, I'm a fan of Marks and spencer UK. Good quality, comfortable and reasonable price. Online shopping is so easy and best of all, the consumers actually rate the item and give reviews. If you live in KL, perhaps you can try their bras and be sure of the your size. But pricing wise, M & S UK is still cheaper (even after forex conversion!)From my experience, their sizing is pretty accurate and standardise for all bras and knickers. I still order from UK (especially during the Christmas sale) and ask my friend to ship to me. To my opinion, the good bras here (Triumph / Wacoal) are insanely priced.

Maybe when i'm desperate, I will buy one of 2 from Yobo, which is quite reasonable quality and price. But otherwise, I will buy in bulk from UK.

I usually buy bras from familiar stores or friends' advise, hardly from online store because I don't know whether it matches me.
I think unless you know your exactly size of bra which is the same with that of the bra you buy from online store, you had better not.
As it's underwear, it's troublesome to return back.

I usually go for retail store too, like Xixili and La Senza. But some better brand like La Perla and Valisere do not have their own retail. However, there is a store in Lot 10 selling high end lingerie like Aubade, La Perla, and so on. smile.gif

If you have a keen eye and you're not too concerned about precise fit, you can always buy bras at warehouse sales. Triumph/Valisere/Amo had theirs 2 weekends ago. Most of the time these lingerie has their label snipped off because of factory defects, which I think is kinda unethical, but hey, it's cheap. I've learned to guesstimate bra size visually, so I don't really need to look at the label. Some brands, like Audrey, will blatantly sell defective bras without snipping off the labels, like last time they had a buy 1 get 2 free, my ex bought 36B (on the label) but is actually size 34. She don't belip me, so I took a size 34 for her to compare, and proceeded to LOL at her.

Blush! offers plenty of bigger size bras. In fact, now during sales you should be able to find lots of odd sized bras.

well.. i just went around to shop for new bras.

I went Wacoal at Isetan KLCC. The sales girl was really good. Very attentive. Probably I went on a weekday evening. But she is really good, nice and patience. Totally what kind of salesperson I was looking for. She will recommend you bras, get you the sizes, helping you out, will knock on your fitting room door and check if everything is fine. Then till the end, she will give you time of your own in the fitting room to make your decision.

Btw, her name is Farah. I would recommend if you are someone who is not familiar with bra shopping or feel uneasy buying bra. She is really good.

Then a day or two later, I went Xixili in One Utama. That sales aunty was very experienced, can tell from how she speaks. Anyways, that was my first time in Xixili. Sales person wasn't attentive enough. I was in the fitting room trying to call for someone. But no one came. Did this for a few times. And in the end finally another salesperson saw me calling for the aunty.

Xixili's bras are pretty cheap compared to Wacoal. But with the two experience I had, the sales person in Wacoal seems to have performed better in form of customer experience.

I think the most important thing when buying bra is to get the right size for yourself. i know there are girls who wear a size bigger so that their boobs look bigger. But bigger size will create space that will flash your nipple. Be careful ya girls. wink.gif

are you buying bras for their comfort or fit or because of the buying-bra experience? lol..

i personally think the only experience you need is to go to a few boutiques and try it yourself to see if it fits and all. different sales people can tell you different things, in the end, you will get confused. its all about trial and error.

it's all about comfort and fit. if you think after wearing you notice something doesnt seem right, try a different pair..

and you dont have to be shy buying bra. everyone has their first awkward moments. a few times and you'll be fine smile.gif

Btw, La Senza yesterday started their semi annual sale with discounts up to 50%. If you go yesterday, can get additional 20% off if purchase above RM250 or something. For their members only. Don't know was it yesterday only or is the sale still ongoing.

Ahh, that sucks. I haven't visited their Pavillion outlet personally. Only heard of ppl buying panties there, so I thought if they sell panties then will have bras also.
More interested in their bikinis though, which I was told not sold here also. Boo..

I'm buying for the comfort, the function and the worth of money.

I just wanna share the buying experience so if there is anyone who feels awkward or uneasy to shop for lingerie knows where to start with by reading our experiences. Some shops they sell lingeries, but some, they sell an experience that comes along with the product.

A sales person makes alot of difference. They are the first point of contact when you enter the shop. If they aren't good in giving advices or recommendations to those uneasy customers, it's gonna ruin their life man. I once wore the wrong size for few years. Yes few years and it was during my development stage. Until one day, I accompanied my mom shopping for lingerie, then the sales person noticed and told me that I seem to be wearing the wrong size. I wasn't even the prospect at first place!

Xixili's bras are pretty cheap compared to Wacoal. But with the two experience I had, the sales person in Wacoal seems to have performed better in form of customer experience.
*
You sure about that? Why is the xixili bra that I buy is always 3 times the price of Wacoal?

If you buy the Xilhouette line vs the Nauti Wacoal line, surely Xixili will appear more expensive.

I have not seen any Xixili costing RM 40 and below. In fact, all that I see is no less than 80. Those 50% discount on Xixili is not included la.

huh?

In Xixili i see bras for like 69+. In wacoal, I see those are like 99+. All NRP. I bought only manage to buy 2 pairs at Wacoal with RM220. I managed to buy 2 pairs with RM266 at Xixili. Not their premium line. Just their normal line.

I haven't seen a lot of Wacoals priced less than RM40 also laugh.gif

I have seen Xixili around the RM60 range though. Not a very good brand anyway, why bother? Wacoal and Triumph is far, far superior in terms of style and quality.

The Valisere range of products is sold under Triumph. If you want to buy Valisere lingeries, walk into any Triumph boutique outlet (Empire, MV, Setia City). Otherwise, see your nearest Jusco/Parkson Triumph section got sell Valisere or not.

I'm sure you know where Triumph is in Setia City. Somewhere opposite Charles & Keith there, same floor with Machines if not mistaken.

Thanks!

Btw, to TS, I love Cotton On! They have modern and chick designs, suitable for teens-30's. But not all Cotton On stores sell the bra range.

Recently came back from Bangkok, came across their local brand Sabina and bought a few bras. I absolutely love the ones that has a little push up effect yet has no underwire. Cost like RM50 per bra only.

I don't think any would buy used bras. Unless you wanna sell it to creeps over the internet who wants used bras.

Give them away to charity if you intend to get rid of them.

it may seem perverted here in malaysia, but in japan it is a legit business...school girls who are looking for quick money will go to the shop, take off their bras n panties there, take a pic of their face, then put them in a sealed box and sell it!

on topic, my gf often goes to la senza for her supply of panties n bras.....(some of them really sexy...haha...for the girls who wanna seduce their bf...)

It's hard to find decent lingerie in any shopping mall nowadays. The quality lingerie i see so far is from this website Sexy Lingerie Malaysiaenxotic.com

What do you think about online shopping nowadays?
