around may to june lor ..
but it usually is getting later n later to start due to NS
which is actually a bad thing for potential students as you get lesser time to complete the syllabus

actually i'm one of the ex f6 ..
i took d STPM last yr ..
i'm not blaming it as it starts late but it does make my life harder as when i go for my exam i didn't even complete my syllabus yet
hence it does affect my results n now i'm taking the private U path already although my results won't be tat bad

btw i'm from sabah so the quality is very way lower than west malaysia
i noe becos i hv frens at west malaysia taking f6 and we do always have lecturers from west malaysia conducting seminars and so and from that i can conclude tat it's east malaysia quality is terribly low compared to west malaysia so i believe you ppl in west malaysia, the quality of f6 shld b way higher (as in terms of the teacher teaching)

to you people who wanna take f6 just keep in mind it's not how smart you are .. but how hardworking you are .. i can say i'm smart (as in terms of i always get straight As in UPSR, PMR, SPM) but as i'm not very hardworking n due to the lack of time to complete the syllabus i'm not quite confident about my results due to be out next week

These schools are big schools, so they do have resources to conduct form 6.

I am second that . Even though my school managed to complete the syllabus , it didn't sound as easy as it look . Our form 6 teachers kept rushing with the lesson non stop , even under 2 period (80 minutes) . It was like hell , but I managed to bring myself through , cause form 6 taught me to study smart & and being independant by not rely on tuitions .

Oh yea I completed my form at SMJK © Chung Hwa in Kota Bharu , interested ? Maybe I can get the telephone number from them .

does it really matters about where you take your stpm? my teacher's daughter, lim sue zann was one of the country's top stpm student in year 2001 or 2002 ( i forgot the actual year ) and she studied in a school located in a small town in johor, called kota tinggi.

I'm in Sarawak and my school has started what we call tuition class for form six. So far all the teachers at my school is good though. My School is SMk Methodist Sibu. If I'm not wrong it started during Febuary.
PS: Form Six is much more harder compared to F4/F5 better think twice before going for it.

i'm an upper six student in kolej sultan abdul hamid in alor star... it's a secondary school anyway... the school offer both art and science stream in form 6... well, the f6 classed in the school are called pra - u (or pre - u)... i'm an art stream student... some of the teachers are very lousy... and in f6, you really cannot depend on the teachers... most of the time... of course f6 is much more difficult than f4/f5... stpm is even considered as one of the toughest examination... if your really hardworking, f6 wouldn't be a big problem for you...

I think that the teacher's experience in teaching and marking STPM papers is essential. STPM isn't an easy exam, it's actually mind numbling ie: Maths 1 2005, after the exam I was mentally drained. You can never expect what question that comes out. The only way to prepare is to do enough on un-routine questions that challenges you to think out of the box.

For those who took the exam last year should remember the Maths 1 hexagon vector question. Passing shouldn't be a problem, but like what my tuition teacher said, they'll always get you at one or two question that'll cost you the A.

I had a crappy math teacher that couldn't teach worth shit, we were actually teaching her the basic, tuition was the only solution for us.

If you're only studying using the text book alone, think again. The best way is to do past year question after you've studied a certain chapter, but sometimes questions from the exam incorporates more than one topic in a single question. Also, a most common misconception is that you only do exam questions when exams are nearby. Have your past year exam papers and try giving them a go a topics you've already covered.

Having said this, I never regreted doing form 6, never.

Tip: Don't believe 100% in spotting questions, finish the syllabus ASAP and do a review on what you've studied.
Tip2: Short notes, life savers. 'Nuff said.
