Is it still a good move to get the G nex? seeing as how the N4 would take some time to reach here and the prices over here are still unconfirmed.
*Newegg is selling the Gnex for 360USD
*
It's depend on you...

get Gnex now... skip N4... get N5 next year...

skip Gnex now.... play waiting games with N4.... get N4... winrar

OR if you have alots of money... get GNex... N4 release.. get N4.... then get N5

with this reading... it shows Samsung most of the time did release their updates with problematic ROM... and what make it worst the treatment towards open source community and dev doh.gif

Sony actually now actively involve CM especially in kernel development, hey they even released their own tool for hackers to unlock the bootloaders. That's there's many Sony ROMS that has very good stability. Even Mini CM10 is available for my Xperia X8 which only has 128MB of RAM!

I wonder the $$$ given to kastam will be more expensive than sirim sticker or not lol
*
Sony started with their full support on open source dev when they release 2011 xperia series by provide tools to unlock bootloader officially.

All my family members hv changed to Xperia series... they quite satisfy with it... I keep hoping Sony bring Nexus as well... currently my ARC internal speaker spoilt due to numerous time drop to the floor...

Thus currently waiting for N4 and willing to change to Sony back if they do bring Nexus series... smile.gif

Yeah, kinda odd that a product launch will be effected during the quiet corporate holiday season between Christmas & New Year.  Then again, hope our brothers here get their wish come true

This has been mentioned many times.  It's incomparable.  Google has its own agenda for selling cheap.  LG doesnt  do charity, they have storefront and logistics cost, regulatory approval and warranty expenses to bear.  Don't count your last sen that you get anywhere near Google's price.  Be realistic.  RM 1799 seems to be the accurate assumption if HK price is used as a guide.

Else, you can wait for Google play to be in stock, speculated at xda to be early january 2013, then ship back and you can get your phone for no more than RM 1200-1300
*
Yes... no need to complaint anymore on the prices...
consumer can choose:
- buy at RM1799 with the good specs + local warranties
- buy at RM1100-1400 with good specs + US warranties
- don't buy... go for S3 / Note II since for these consumer S3 / Note II warrant the RM1600-2k prices but not N4

Hi all, I'm new user of Nexus 4. Just want to share some of my experience after using just 2 days. Hope to gather some advise along the way too.

Pro:
- Very fast device (am coming from Xperia Arc S and i4s, impressed with its speed)
- nice and sharp screen (no yellowish or blue tint like iPhone, not over-saturated like Samsung)
- top notch build quality, phone feels high-end, not some cheapo plastic

Cons:
- battery life not great, indeed at poor side, cannot last one day (7am-10pm) even with just normal usage. I doubt even light usage won't last that long too. Feel i4s is stronger
- a tad too wide and heavy
- audio not as good as Xperia or i4s. I maybe more critical in this aspect, think most users will unlikely notice the difference
- camera not great, even worst than Xperia in low light.

Overall, not so satisfied, maybe i had high expectation earlier. For now, i rate overall experience 6.5/10
*
Battery life... Try few cycle if charging... Some ppl say it did improve.

Speaker... I believe among android phone... Xperia highend model have the best speaker...

For low light Xperia mighy be better due to the examor tech

Haha...  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

I agree with what you say.. however..

LG [never] or hardly provide support for their device, if this is not nexus, I don't see  why
so many people would go for this... even with better specs.

Suree you can root, custom rom, everything, but that's like saying buying a car from bad company is ok, you can service it at any workshop anyway
For me, to whoever wants a phone, I recommend iPhone instantly, saying Apple is best will never make people's head shake, they will nod and agree.
*
Normally before recommendation... I'll asked their budget and what are the phone in their head that they want to get.
so it could be Iphone, Android or even Lumia phone and explaining pro's and con's.

I'll be bringing out the Panasonic Wireless Qi charger today to meet with Doomsday and test with his Nexus 4. Just to confirm once and for all that it works without a hitch, unlike the Nokia wireless charger.

Also, will be bringing this back from the States on the 9th. A good friend ordered and shipped from Amazon, for his upcoming Nexus 4.

I'm not surprised on the reactions here, it's well deserved and I'd be pissed too. I'll do what I can updating any news I have, even if the news comes from KL, sent via SMS to me and I'll have to replay it back here from Tokyo or LA.

Stand tough, stand firm, guys.

Stringfellow signing out. Already in the plane. Next post if any will be from Tokyo.

Hope you can bring back Panasonic QE-TM101... let me know if you can bring it to KL... smile.gif
