what he meant was different version of the same phone as in the case with galaxy nexus.
not all version of galaxy nexus get an update once google released latest update.

some versions only get an update months after.

i use both ip5 and galaxy nexus.

in terms of flexibility, galaxy nexus wins hands down.
but in terms of smoothness of course ip5 wins, but the GN is an outdated model for a mobile phone.
