2nd review of BLM improvements.

After half a year driving my BLM with several improvements, here are my reviews. Reason being, I have lately bought Savvy, every weekend is like a brand new experience in BLM for me, the effect of mods become significant as compare to Savvy my daily ride.

1) Front strut bar in BLM is 4 point, torsion strength has been significantly improved. Attacking corner would felt the rigidity. I felt steering action became more sensitive, and feels the solid feedback from tyres. Big bravo to 3MAX.

2) 3 point rear seat brace was in place since June, and it was my 1st mod. BLM rear seat area was kosong, hold by a piece of cardboard. After aplying seat brace, whole new driving experience was introduced. Rear torsion rigidiy can be felt no matter how I drive the car. Particularly during speed bumps, uneven road. Rear tyres traction became obvious, absorbers travel distance significantly increased. The great pleasure of road holding power came together with slight uncomfortable in a small package. I felt bodyroll slightly increased, steering action reduced. This will directly translated into lost control when lateral force < tyre traction, simulating lift up understeer. When turning corner @ high speed, if continue apply gas, the car will turn into oversteer, may need counter steering to correct; whereas lift up gas pedal, sudden increased of lateral force may result in "buang" or understeer situation. I have personally experienced these events several times. I recon a rear stabilizer bar may help to reduce lateral force, but the side effect of over rigid may result in ultra uncomfortness. My current solution is, drive slow.

3) Rear member brace from ULAR. It was loosen for 2 months and I'm still whacking corners until I heard metal knocking sound. Sent back to EA, Howie tighten them for me FOC. Since BLM uses torsion beam as rear axle, I believe there's very little help. However, this insignificant add on removed 1 the character of the car. Along Jalan Kuala Selangor from MRR2, before reaching Manjalara on he left, right lane has a huge dip. During rainy season it is very dangerous as the car tend to dive in, jump up, and the landing may cause sliding/drifting. With the rear member brace in place, I can no longer felt the insecure going through the dive. Don't know how that happenedan but it does the magic. Its not placebo because I'm traveling this route often at the same speed.

4) Room bar from ULAR, installed in EA by Drex. Having this thing in the car, I felt the cabin rigidity has been 100% improved. It is significant DURING corner. I often take 90kmh corner from Jln Istana towards Sg Besi. The huge right turn with speed breaker often bring many road user fly to the sky or smash into TOYOTA showroom. With the room bar, the wheels swaying sympthom vanish. It could be the rear member brace that is working hard, but I felt the lateral force being transfered from driver side to the passenger side. I can hear the passenger seat belt slapping, whilst the car glued on the ground even hitting the speed breakers at 90kmh. It used to be silent turning, but every time the wheels hit the breaker, I need to adjust my steering to keep the car in line.

I've got all the reason to believe what I believe now. I've consulted Drex regarding side braces, but Drex politely declined my request, saying unless I go offroad, otherwise the effect is insignificant. Drex explain unless we hit an over jump that will bounce the car up like a dugong, the side bar will be there to make sure the cabin straightness, so the car can land straight instead of sliding like a tofu car. Knowing its insignificant, but still tempting to add it on, just incase. Who knows?

I understand watchu mean. I'm computer science guy, so my term is slightly different nia. I know electronics are dump, so as computer. What I'm trying to say is, can they use a ROM to memorize how long it should wait? Instead of purely rely on resister & capacitor? I know this bcoz I'm currently working on the key ring light delay timer. If I change the LED stripe the delay timing oso run geh, need to change capacitor again.

I like the HID effect when it's at the reverse light, however my 68LED couldn't fit my front parking lamp I have 10SMD T10, but haven't get a chance to install them yet

Iridium sepakberak is very efficient geh. Firing is focus, therefore it can easily achieve complete burning compare to big legged sepakberak If you remember the older days when cars still have birds and butterfly in the engine head, those valve need a valve seat to align them in place, when valve accumulated too much tahi can't close tight, as a result white got white smoke when pickup from trafik lite(not talking about vapor during rainy days). This is bcoz engine oil leaked into combustian chamber during idling as the valve tend to be working the most lazy time.

Here's the PROVEN - MYTH. My bro's 4G15p got white smoke on traffic light pickup. After changed to iridium berak few months, the car no longer emit white smoke on traffic light pickup. Flickering vacuum reading became stable like new car! I do not believe him, so I got myself another set of iridium on my 3K engine. To my surprise, few months later I did notice my vacuum settled down, become less active on idling. My Levin is known to be fuel gazzler, but I found my FC gradually improved. I can't remember the exact figure bcoz back then dun hab fuelly, as far as I can remember was from average 10km/litre increased to 12km/litre(with racing carburetor). My next experience was Iswaga 4G13p, currently with unker Choy. I whacked the car until piston ring loose, too much engine oil being spill into combustion chamber, result the car jerky/lack of power/drink fuel like pour water into longkang. After iridium berak plonk in 2005, MORE WHITE SMOKE EMIT, but the restored some power, reduced FC. I had the DBKL ubat nyamuk car running around for another year until I have sufficient fund to overhaul it. My last experience was my Wigra 1.6XLi. This car got no problem, engine is tip top, only 120kkm even it's 16 years old. But hor, when slow down time engine die. When reach traffic light, engine die. When traffic jam infront I brake, engine die. I saw lenglui pass by, slow down blow whistle, engine oso die. I overhauled the whole intake system, I change plotong sepakberak, the car's fine for few months, same problem again. Change sepakberak again, again it only lasted few months. The ranjiao Singgalingam friend say could be my berak wayar rosak, go an pull my berak wayar then snap 9 jor. Originally no rosak now become rosak had to change berak wayar. Even after change berakwayar, car still jerk and die engine when slowing down. Suddenly I felt like kena lightning strike, reminds me of the good old iridium berak, immediately get a set of them plonk it in. The Wigra no more jerk, no more engine die, FC improve from 1 full tank maximum 350km to 400km(sometimes 450). Until the day I sold car, my FC still improving.

Performance? I don't think it's significant enough unless your injector was tuned inline with the sepakberak upgrade. The last time I got my sepakberak was RM120/set of 4. Not sure whether its cheap/expansib, but out of desperate so I did it.



Don't expect it will boost up your car, but see the effect over the long run. This is a mod that is quite affordable but 2nd most hard work in your engine(champion goes to ignition coil, and it's not cheap to mod ignition coil).
