QUOTE(Anni @ Dec 5 2012, 02:58 PM)
Hi everyone.

I been driving my saga fl for 18 months while experiencing a wind leaking noise all the time. The noise started to kick in when i hit 90km/h and above, and the noise becomes louder as speed increases. I sent to proton service multiple time and wasted weeks putting my car there but problem was not solved.

Does anyone have the same problem? or what may be the causes?

Recently, i accidently drop a pen into my dash board from those little ovally hole. Is it easy to remove the dashboard? The workshop I asked was gonna charge me 200-300 to open the dashboard sad.gif
*
Hi...
My FL is 20 mths oledi...
Road/tyre noises?
Yup, plenty got!! That's characteristic of Our Gagas!

Wind noise?
Nope.
No such wind noise, even up to 120kph... smile.gif
Mayb cos all my doors hv xtra OEM rubber seals?

Which hole?
1. Aircon vents on dashbd facia?
Or
2. those holes below the w/screen?

If (1), then need 2dismantle those vents & air hoses...
If (2), the pen shld hv dropped down to the floorboard cos there's nothing below those holes!!

If pen not giving any probs, why not save yr $$$... cheers.gif

IINM, i read before in GAGA thread, somebody tell that our gaga alternator not give sufficient charge to battery

i buy something that wrote "Battery Check" tools
plug into ciggarate lighter port, to doing battery check

when i do test to my FLX, the result:
battery check (when engine off) = battery in good condition = green
alternator check (when engine idle/drive) = not enough charging power = yellow+green

can i trust this tools?
or it's real our gaga alternator not have enough power?

Hi Bro...
Juz use that device as a rough guide. As long as in a green zone, it's ok.

Best for home chk is 2use a branded Multimeter set to Voltage mode. W
IINM 13.9V to 14+ V reading shows good alernator functioning...depending on time/rpm of engine.
Idling @start of car shld b 14+V.

ps. Me rber Bro YAB David did a detailled post on car voltage chks/readings recently. Pls do a search.

Yr Gagas also kena? sweat.gif
Now me getting worried liao...

Since got car, me kena 1X. Still dun kno cause of prob even till now...
Crank a few times, it started but died after few secs!
Then a couple of long cranks & it fired to life!
Till now NO prob watsoever at all!!

Prob with electronically controlled car systems...?
Seems so common these days in modern EFI engines... laugh.gif

Hi Bro YAB David... notworthy.gif

Is that most common cause?
Probably why after long cranks, car re-Started w/o probs, like nothing ever happened!! laugh.gif

For carb engines, one cld press acc pedal 2floor (prevent fuel intake & at same time dry out flooded cylinders) & restart agin... tongue.gif
So in EFI engines, we kenot do that...gonna b worse, rite?
Only crank long long crank, huh?
TQ.

Please check on your engine oil level when you crank start your engine. It happened on my savvy stranded for 10 minutes or so.. i found out it was actually my mech who just service my car did not put in enough oil.. and when the engine is pretty hot.. the engine oil indicator light, light up. Went back home pour the whole damn can into my savvy.. remaining 500ml.. the fellow left at least 500ml there. No problem since then.

Hi Bro....
In my case, hmm.gif dun think it's caused by low EO level in sump....

Pak Z1, if memory serve u well, masih ingat kah masa melampau your ole GaGa if terpump gas pedal sebelom stat, you'll get the same shit, very hard to crank stat icon_idea.gif It is normal for ALL cars la. Worst for oversized injectors/turbo cars, happened very often. Especially hot weather, nozzle tend to lazy shut down.
Yup, Bro! The good ole carb days...
Still embedded in dis ole grey matter! Haha! TQ!
Any way 2prevent such a prob in our "modern" EFI engines? Or hv 2live with it?

Meanwhile, don't know about engine oil can affect crank up the car rolleyes.gif Theoretically, practically, mechanically, don't think it brings any effect that helps start the car. However, if put 12 litres of oil inside, I'm sure it can't start because engine oil will flood the whole rocker and sneak in the combustion chamber  laugh.gif U know how I know this? There was once an apprentice in my magician's workshop, did oil changed with a Wigra 4G93, after that he asked how many needed to put back the engine. So the taochew told him 3(but didn't mention litre) laugh.gif So customer stranded infront of workshop, checked half day on the electronics and stuff to no avail doh.gif in the end keep cranking until oil spilled out from engine oil cap only realized engine oil overflowed rclxub.gif
*
Wow, a very kwai apprentice...but feel more of one w/o any mech basics? whistling.gif
In such cases, feel the Sifu is partly 2blame wan.... sweat.gif

Me hv personally encountered an apprentice (only a teenager) who was told by his Sifu 2remove my ole Saga alternator for replacement. (It was overcharging that time)
That boy juz stood at my car! Not doing anything!
Me asked him why? His reply? "I dun kno how 2remove the unit!"
His very first time!! doh.gif
So me asked him why he nvr asked his Sifu. And he told me the Sifu wld scold him if he were 2ask!
His Sifu expects his apps 2find out by themselves how 2do any job assigned 2them!!!

Only then me realised my car was gonna b a REAL white mice!! Phew!
NEVER wanna go back 2that shop anymore!!! rclxm9.gif

Hi Bro...
Breaking a clip or 2 while DIY-ing is very small issue only...
Juz need 2prep b4 start of any DIY ie forsee possible "accidents"...
In yr case, buying a few spare clips on standby... tongue.gif

IINM during Insuflex TT, our Bros wld b doing their own cars...those with more experience in DIY-ing might guide yu...
NOT do it 4yu tho....
Bro Mahihi wld hv spare clips on hand...but yu still hv 2pay 4them...

Hi Bro...
Spraying on pre-painted metal surfaces is easy cos needs simple prep nia.
However, IINM & from my limited knowledge, spraying on skirting made from abs, fibre, etc, needs more prep, namely proper cleaning, a good Q primer & undercoat b4 final colour coats.
Pls confirm with Bro SiuYi. Ok, Bro? icon_rolleyes.gif
