I am looking for any Palm/Treo repair centre around Klang Valley area.

Any recommended shop? And what is the price like?

I know PalmOne usually ask us to send back the unit, and PalmOne will swap a new one for us.
Unfortunately mine is out of warranty.

Thanks!

PalmOne never swaps us a new one... it's usually a refurbished unit. sad.gif

what's up with your Treo600? Have you tried going back to the shop you bought it from?

OIC. refurbished huh..

My treo seems to have this buzz sound in the speaker when there is a conversion going on.
The thing is, after some time i don't use the treo as my phone. When i start using it, it was ok for a while, then after few hours, the problem came back.

No shop to go to. Coz i bought it thru forum.lowyat.net tongue.gif
And kena CON, tot got another few more months warranty left. In fact, warranty already expired.

So now, 2 choice for me, either paid USD$1xx (RM700-RM800) for over warranty replacement unit OR
find someone to fix it for me.

Hope somebody can help.

The earlier Treo 600 which I used was giving the similar problem too.

It was caused by the motherboard (if that is what you called it).

Was considering of sending it to Palm, but like you said with the price, might as well buy a new one.

Not intend to dissapoint you, but this seems to be the fact in the digital gadget world.

Nothing worth to fix.

But now my concern is,
either RM700 to get a replacement Treo600
OR
RM1700 to get a new Treo650

That is like RM1000 diff.

So, i was thinking if got shop can help to repair, that would save my $$$
perhaps paying just RM200-RM300.

Well , you can get the parts from eBay , but are you willing to take the risk and replace it yourself. If so , then you dont have any problems

I am a big fan of Treo series (I was using Treo since the 180 series) , then I got one problem (that is the 'warranty') part..PalmOne products tend to get 'sucky' after a year (before that , it would be fine....Then slowly , one by one it would give problem).

Do yourself a favor , switch or wait for the PalmOne Treo 700 series (which runs Windows Mobile OS)

Bro, try Items.com at Summit USJ, Subang Jaya.

Please call or e-mail them your problem first as whether they will be able to help you or not.

The cost of repair might be cheaper.

E-mail: item.com@gmail.

Try to search for them in the BuySell.com.my for tel no.

Hope this helps.

Surprisingly to found out that, it is a known/common problem among Treo600 owners.

I 've not tried yet, hehehe.. not tat i don't have time, so happen i don't have the aluminium foil hahaha..

Anyway, a great thanks to all of your great ideas/comments. notworthy.gif

Hi, I have a Treo 600 and the problem has been there for some time.

Thanks kitti for the links. I followed it and managed to fixed it. So far so good.

Just one thing to watch out if you are doing this. The "pins" are rather sensitive, when you put in the socket that time, just be careful & gentled.
