Around USD150, the box is almost 36lb....!
Damn big box... next time must ask them to use fit-fit carton boxes...
*
bro, i think that is the shipping volumetric measurement, not the real box weight.

mine got charged 25.5KG (55lbs) but the REAL weight of the shipment is only 11.5KG (25.5lbs). Paying MORE THAN DOUBLE of the real weight rclxub.gif

I have yet to receive mine, I wonder why the volumetric measurement so BIG and what are the drawbacks (damage to the box) if to reduce the packaging

The dimensional weight is 25.5KG so i think the package is quite BIG and it attracts the custom's attention to 'investigate' sad.gif
Luckily my Imperial Shutter arrived safely via USPS biggrin.gif

This is the set that I ordered from Amazon. My second Modular  rclxm9.gif
I bought it at USD129.97 2 weeks ago, now it's further reduced to USD119.97. Pretty worth it I might say, so for those who want to start their Modular collection, quickly order one now!
Total cost was less than RM600, luckily manage to avoid tax.

the rrp listed surely higher than usual but after discount, some (if not all) are definitely cheaper than any seller in LYN forum:

Droid Escape - RM75
Jabba palace - RM449
Green base plate - RM37

Yeah... with the key chains and magnets...?
No more wor...

It is not exactly with the key chains and magnets, but its near there.

IF you are facing this shirtless darth maul, the key chain is on the RIGHT hanging glass cabinet
this darth maul is not hook on, it is actually just inside the glass cabinet.

*not very good in drawing but hope this gives u better idea

He's selling it... look in the Sales Thread in the Hobbies & Collectibles.
But even if he plans to assembly it, it will take him at least 20Hrs, I reckon thumbup.gif

All my sets cant be placed into glass cabinet. They are just too big doh.gif

My current bar table already occupied by the 3 sets, no place for SSD and MF. SSD alone already 1.24meter, will take up the whole table-top

Thinking to sell them to fund for modular building instead, something which my wife would happy to see and share the costs laugh.gif

wah SSD drop price..  rclxms.gif  still wont buy, I get imperial shuttle and death star..
*
Imperial Shutter is GOOD

as for Death Star (DS) vs SSD, i picked SSD simply coz it has higher discount rate. And if you are to compare DS and SSD in LEGO website (REGION=UK), SSD=RRPĀ£349.99 while DS=RRPĀ£274.99. IMHO, the amazon discounts makes SSD a much 'better value'

In US both are supposed to be same price USD399.99, don't know why in UK LEGO website, the SSD is a lot more expensive.

If the shipments got held up at custom, private carriers such as DHL will settle for you such as to:
- fill up the necessary documents
- prepare other documents needed for the custom clearance such as invoices and etc.

Then the carrier will also PAY on your behalf the 10% of total value (goods + shipments) + RM20 handling fees by the carrier.

Then the carrier will deliver to your doorstep and pass you the invoice on the custom fees. You have to pay them at doorstep or they won't release the items to you

Declaring the shipment as GIFTS no longer exempt it from duties

Last I checked at custom website, TOYS do get taxed 10% IF the total values (Goods + shipping charge) exceeds RM500

http://www.dhl.com.my/en/express/shipping/...ms_support.html

I only have experience with DHL but i do believe others such as UPS and FEDEX offer the same service.

As for the custom tax %, you just need to google it. There are wide range of TOYS category but generally is 10% if exceed RM500 (including shipping charge)
