Yup... Bricklinking needs lots of time and energy and luck! But good way to build the obsolete set/vehicle that you need... good luck with this endeavor! thumbup.gif

Hi, I am new to lowyat forums but have followed for a long time. Also fan of Lego since young, but not a collector.

I started collecting the shell Lego very very late....and needed the Berlinetta 250 to complete my collection.... I have travelled over 20 shell stations since 2 weeks ago and to no avail.... But I managed to get the minifigs.....

I am pleased to see that many Lego enthusiasts are against those who buy up all the sets and immediately sell them off for like double the price...

What I want to say is, today was the last day I decided to look for the Berlinetta 250. Give up liao, went to the final station with my gf promising her that I won't waste my time already.... I also abit sad la...so I sent her into the station....

So I'm posting here to say

The NKVE highway from Subang to Damansara shell station with KFC and petronas, has ALL the models, in plenty stock except the Minifigs. Yes all the models. I don't know how long it will last. But I saw with my eyes 6 big boxes with each model inside... At least 150+ pcs of each model including the Berlinetta 250!

So my gf jumped out of the shell mart and ask me to open the car door, she told me all the models also got! U better come and see what u want la!

Ha ha...I would be lying if I said I didn't think of buying the whole box of Berlinetta 250...I believe that most hobbyist would agree that would be against the spirit of the hobby itself... Plus, I think I read somewhere online about ppl investing in Lego...of course with every investment there is a risk...

All it takes is for Lego to reprint the same set again and then the value doesn't change.
I guess some of the examples given were the millennium falcon which is like mega value now, but the death star they are still printing up to today... So that one still not a worthwhile investment? Maybe some sets like Atlantis and a prince of Persia also not as valuable as some thought? But of course got others which have tremendous value...

If a hobby is only accessible to the rich, then eventually it will die a slow death right?

Please coreect me if I'm wrong?

you can choose not to play what the rich are playing lor.. right now maybe they target large obsolete Theme sets like SW or the three Modular sets which pased out

so for budget concious go with collecting mini figs.. not cheap per figure, but it aint SSD or death star RRP ..
actually death star not bad, cos can take out the 25 mini figs and sell.. biggrin.gif
