agreed with you. thats why i am asking if you guys have any reputable seller / or seller that you guys have work with to recommend to me.

QUOTE(alister88 @ Jan 3 2013, 02:41 PM)
well, the best way is to look at their feedbacks and check their complains.
also it depends on what items u wanna get from seller. Not all sellers selling the same stuff tho... smile.gif

Guys,

could u just give the NAME of the seller/store in BL which u guys have had good experience no matter what ur buying? that is much easier.. biggrin.gif

I think that would surely be the answer his looking for..

is it a secret which u guys cant just stated the name of seller/store in BL? the way ur replying is like u dont want him or us to know which store or seller in BL u bought LEGO from.. rclxub.gif

example of seller : BrickDog's Emporium

i have no experience in BL..so u guys with experience please share.. rclxms.gif

QUOTE(Joshlkw @ Jan 3 2013, 02:58 PM)
You don't seriously expect to come in here and have people just spoon feed you with everything you ask for, right? There are some longtime collectors here who have bought from hundreds of different sellers from several continents. You don't really expect them to log in to their accounts, go through all their feedback and try to recall everything just so he can give you information that is nobody but yours to find out.

In the first place, BL is very much a place of trial and errors, so why make a fuss over something like that. Personally, I don't really believe I've bought from the same seller more than once or twice. There's really no 'awesome', 'better' or 'very recommended' sellers or whatnot. It's about who's offering the exact stuff you need and who has it for the best price at the moment. Anyways, no offense since that's just my two cents.
*
well not asking to list down any 100 sellers or 1000 sellers name..maybe the guy already search in BL u never know..

if u want to help, just mention 1 or 2 seller, would it be too difficult? no fuss right? rather u type so long and no point also biggrin.gif

sharing is caring.. notworthy.gif

agree with Joshlkw

it's not that we dont want to share or tell, i did share about PLAYEXPERT (a BL seller)
he got some of the best lego pricing around... some of us have bought from him before.

somehow his store got closed down late last year (due to no ship issue)
it got sorted few days before new year, just now i went, the shop got closed down again (this time not sure what's the issue)

so i say i bought from this seller, then somehow when u order from him, sh*t happen (he runaway with your money, shipment lost)
hopefully u will not blame me...
my only suggestion would be: try to choose a seller from  Featured Stores/Highlighted Stores/ Honored Stores
their shop is there usually because they are trustworthy n been there for a while.
order, wait for invoice n pray. (that ur item can reach safely)

Added on January 3, 2013, 3:12 pmi wonder if we should do a guide on how to shop from BL?
then ask TS to put it in first few post? hmm.gif
*
yup..i read ur post about PLAYEXPERT..thanks for doing that..

if shits happen, than thats another issue...its not saying that when ur suggesting a seller, the sller is super great or something..

its just a sharing experience based on ur buying..

example: "i bought SW sets from this seller POWERLEGO"

then the guy will verify in BL whether the LEGO stuff he wants got or not in that store..thats all..

for me, after this if i have experience buying in BL..i would just share that i bought this thing from this seller and u can try it out.. tongue.gif

btw, good suggestion on the Featured Stores/Highlighted Stores/ Honored Stores biggrin.gif

so im not going to argue anymore..seems like people dont want to mention where or which store in BL they bought LEGO from..

ok change topic..thanks anyway notworthy.gif biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Joshlkw @ Jan 3 2013, 03:12 PM)
Wow, I don't know where you got the 100, 1000 names part from but whatever makes you happy man. Anyways helping and sharing is fine and all but how do you expect help when we have no idea what set/part/fig he is looking for in particular? I mean, that's a serious lack of information there. And even if it's just a request for any shops in general, the fact here remains that it is obvious the best prices are listed first and from there you find your way to determine whom you should buy from by ASKING the sellers to quote you the shipping prices so you can compare.

Again, here it's up to YOURSELF because only YOU know what YOU want from that particular seller. Don't know if that made my opinion any clearer to you but that's an opinion nonetheless. Oh well.

PS. Typing out my point of view is no fuss to me regardless of the length. Just thought you should know before you assume further/again.
*
ok bro..your point clear..no harm done biggrin.gif

QUOTE(alister88 @ Jan 3 2013, 03:17 PM)
yeah, agree with aba9785 and Joshlkw.
like I said before, the best would be going thru their profile, read some of their feedbacks and check for their complains.

Different people will encounter different experiences. Some might think that A is good seller whereas some might have bad experience with A.
All in all is trial and errors like ebay. Also do contact with sellers and ask for pictures if there is.
*
thanks alister88 for the point also biggrin.gif

well I do believe everyone here would like to help each others but sometimes if we need help, we do need to have some initiative as well.
Some questions are really too general(too wide) where people really can only give general answers or worse still no answers all so yeah, if were to ask for some questions, would be better to be more specific so that people still understand and able to help.

wink.gif
be specific right..this one i confirm agree with u smile.gif hehe

dont worry..u and others here already help me a lot.
i still owe u all a lot of thanks n gratitude

actually i dont mind saying which seller i have bought, but then i dont get anything from them

furthermore,i think our garage sales there got many nice seller.
that should be the first place to go before going to BL.
good one
*
yup..its true..i was surveying for the 79003 unexpected gathering from BL price & local price..after considering the shipping cost + shipping duration, i prefer our local seller price which is within the range biggrin.gif

QUOTE(alanyuppie @ Jan 3 2013, 04:00 PM)
there is NO secret nor the purpose of keeping one. The BL search feature allows search by "best price". from the search result... we can knock ourselves out choosing cheapest/preferred seller and what else he has to offers that rocks our sampan.
as for personal recommendations... I have a dozen and no specific "favorite". Even if I mention lets say seller "XXX" my favorite, that seller might not offer what others are looking for (maybe he specialising on parts, not set.. or certain themed sets).

part of the fun in LEGO as a hobby is the scouting/searching online or in shops, rather than "direct me immediately to what I want." . I cherish every moment until the parcel came/unboxing, and assembly .  I heard some got the kicks from admiring stacked MISB toy boxes against the wall tongue.gif
*
that is a good experience rclxms.gif

QUOTE(envio.corp @ Jan 3 2013, 04:02 PM)
chill out bro  icon_idea.gif

my initial idea was to have our community here helping each other in getting lower price of any set you want.
so i thought it would be good any we can share any seller that we have deal before (of course buying at your own risk).
*
i understand ur idea bro but ......... tongue.gif
miscommunication perhaps..heheh
