Yes take the 3yr warranty. It is worth it. I got my kong-out LCD, keyboard, fan, HDD replaced w/o charge.

Never ever buy a laptop w/o warranty extension.

But I m looking into Centrino Duo. But anyone know if it is equivalent to Pentium 4 extreme edition? ( I was told by Intel that both core are HT processors = 4 threads). Intel's Dev manual + faq seems to indicate that too. But MS n HP staff seems to be blank on it.

HP hv asked me to wait on centrino duo laptop to get into M'sia. retailers put a hold on it as they anticipate hardware bugs.

Anybody got anything to say on it?

cheers.

But performance and stability wise is it good for 630m? My brother is interested in Dell's latest offer as well.
I noticed the Integrated Graphics part... is it ok? My bro plans to play Warcraft on it. Warcraft is not SOOOO demanding on graphics yes? I want to get him one which is quite durable as i dont want him to keep pestering of notebook problems. tongue.gif
Thanks.

I have seen our business associates using this model. The screen tend to break, guess due to the heavy usage or traveling around.

The screen is also too small for the 12in wide screen.

Thinking about the downtime for couple of days, might want to consider buying some other models or brands.

Look, if you really want to use it to play games, I advise you to look for a notebook with a dedicated graphics chip. I'm using the 630m right now and the graphics while adequate, won't bring your enjoyment very far. In fact, some games don't support integrated laptop graphics out of the box (like TOCA).

Warcraft or not, look into some other offerings with the ATI or nVIDIA chip. Less headaches for everyone.

for games better bought i6000 or 9000, 630m not really suitable for games (imho) but i did try install Rome total war & barbarian invasion and i'ts work find. graphic look ok although built-in .

mine 630m ram is 1GB, not sure whether 512ram would make any different in terms of performance
