um i experience the 3G logo on the top left will go away when im making a call. and when im done with the call, it slowly goes from O>E>3G.
only happens when im back in msia using maxis, doesnt happen when i was in aussie using the same phone. so im suspecting its a maxis issue rather than the phone's issue.
also, the phone sometimes has difficulties getting 3G internet connection at regions im sure has 3G connection. rclxub.gif

yeah i think this is the best way to put it. i opted for the 64gb one cos i dont plan to upgrade in the coming year so this shud give a peace of mind till the next interesting upgrade. thumbup.gif

been using it since the first day launched a aussie (21st sept, i think). um the black part on the sides has numerous scratches. and the worst par is, the top power button is pretty dead.
out of 10 clicks, it will only respond to about 2-3 of it.

im waiting to head back to aussie feb next year when my semester resumes to get a replacement. for now, just have to tahan with the phone.

but i think this might be caused by me dropping the phone. dropped it only once but on carpet. not sure if its cos of that. unsure.gif

bro i dont think it has anything to do with where the phone comes from. perhaps, its just unlucky i got one that is faulty. or perhaps the drop spoilt the connection wit the power button abit.

so you on your 3G only when you need it?
i keep my 3G on the whole time. i unplug my phone at about 10am, with minimum usage, my phone only manages to last till about 9pm, before it totally offs. oh and i leave my location service on'd the whole time too.
is everyone using an iPhone 5 having the same battery life?

i sorta gave up trying to find for a nice casing for the phone. hence im using it naked now.
this is also cos im gonna be looking for a replacement unit when i get back to aussie due to the power button 'kaput' d. rclxub.gif

Oh, another thing, last time iPhone 4S available on Apple Online Store on the same day it's made available through telcos. But then, you gonna need to wait again, since it may take weeks for the unit from order until them reach doorsteps.

for those who are looking to buy the phone outright, the way i see it, try and fish those that wants to sign the iValue plans with maxis, and have them purchase a few other sets on launch day. if you are looking to buy outright without signing any contract on launch day, that would be pretty impossible.

are you buying from a private seller, or authorized sellers (shops)? cos if private seller, i doubt they can do anything about it even if there are scuffs, which is a known problem for the iPhone 5, even new units.
but with shops also, with the msian customer service, im not sure whether they will let you change on the spot, or just ask you to come back another day.

considering how msian launches the phone today, we will see how they treat new units with scuffs and other defects. cos previously, this problem is pretty rare on the iP4/4s.

i have trouble connecting to 3G only when im on the phone. even being in 3G coverage area, the connection will drop to 'O' when im in the middle of the call, and will attempt to reconnect when im done with the call. are you havin the same symptoms? mine's aussie set thou.

yeah i have the same issue too. but sometimes, not all the time. the back-side of the phone appears to be quite warm.

anyways,
im assuming there will be alot of iPhone 5 owners in this forum after this weekend.

my battery usage is sorta like that too. was quite disappointed at the iPhone 5 battery life, something that i have been constantly frustrated with apple phones. on normal usage (unplug at 9am), with location services on and cellular on, my phone will last me till about 9pm? so about 12 hours of usage? whatsapp here and there, no streaming video or listening to music. games perhaps less than 30mins in total a day.

not sure if the next update wud be able to fix this. but i hope it does bcos i get nervous everytime my phone says that its battery is below 20%.

p/s: they say battery cycle at least once a month, i battery cycle everyday lol. not sure if thats a bad thing.

yeah i think the reasoning is spot on here. for a 2k plus phone, a RM69 cable seems reasonable. you do get what you pay for. i currently own two lightning cable althou only owning one device that uses it. one is constantly plugged into my iMac for syncing while the other to the power adapter for charging throughout the night.

i have given up on the iPhone 5's battery. before this on the iP4, mayb due to the lack, i dont really do much with my phone. now with the improved hardware, i do use my phone for a lot more stuff. hence i think thats why the battery barely lasts me a good 9 hours. i get nervous whenever the battery goes below 20%.

and for that, im opting for a good powerbank. the in car charger i have right now, seems to charge really slow. so thats not gonna help much either.

usage: 3G on constantly, location services off. about 8-9hours.

i always thought the iPhone 4/4s battery was bad, but i never toggled the 3G or the location service and it wud last me slightly more.
