QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 3 2013, 09:20 PM) Can you use this Mobile Partner and try again? http://www.mediafire.com/download/1ik1dxxoqi053rc/ Edit : Upon installing Mobile Partner, the driver will be stored on C:\Program Files (x86)\Mobile Partner\Driver Thanks However, I tried it with my dad's old windows xp laptop and it works there |

Well this is really strange... my C:\WINDOWS\inf\usb.inf file was somehow deleted from both my computers. I guess it's some crappy uninstaller that did it.
After restoring it from a friend's computer, the E398 installation completed successfully |

Do you know what WCDMA/HSPA I can buy for the E398 to use with Maxis? I'm going outstation in a few months and might benefit from an antenna.

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jan 16 2014, 07:11 PM) The build in antenna is the best unless you spend for a panel antenna or equivalent. I see. When I was in the jungle, my mobile phone could attain a weak GPRS signal while the E398 couldn't at all.I've tried a few portable one and they don't works well. Do you have any advice for me? (may involve buying something.. he he) |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jan 16 2014, 08:12 PM) Try forcing it to 2G or GSM 900Mhz. Do you have a link to the specs of the antenna? I'd like to know the dimensions.. as it stands my friends already think I'm a huge nerd for bringing my laptop on a camping trip Get a panel antenna is my suggestion, it is definitely useful but I can't guarantee you will get 3G. I will bring in some after CNY if you need them |
