hmm.gif Sorry for this as this shouldn't happen and never happen

Can you use this Mobile Partner and try again?

Edit : Upon installing Mobile Partner, the driver will be stored on C:\Program Files (x86)\Mobile Partner\Driver

Thanks

I've tried using that as well as the latest Mobile Partner from Huawei's website. Still can't get it to work on my computers.

However, I tried it with my dad's old windows xp laptop and it works there hmm.gif It might be something that I installed in my computers which is conflicting.

Well this is really strange... my C:\WINDOWS\inf\usb.inf file was somehow deleted from both my computers. I guess it's some crappy uninstaller that did it.

After restoring it from a friend's computer, the E398 installation completed successfully rclxm9.gif

Do you know what WCDMA/HSPA I can buy for the E398 to use with Maxis? I'm going outstation in a few months and might benefit from an antenna.

The build in antenna is the best unless you spend for a panel antenna or equivalent.

I've tried a few portable one and they don't works well.

I see. When I was in the jungle, my mobile phone could attain a weak GPRS signal while the E398 couldn't at all.

Do you have any advice for me? (may involve buying something.. he he)

Try forcing it to 2G or GSM 900Mhz.
Get a panel antenna is my suggestion, it is definitely useful but I can't guarantee you will get 3G.

I will bring in some after CNY if you need them smile.gif

Do you have a link to the specs of the antenna? I'd like to know the dimensions.. as it stands my friends already think I'm a huge nerd for bringing my laptop on a camping trip laugh.gif

It is 240*180*44MM.

You may try other carrier, Celcom is good for forest coverage. tongue.gif
