I bought a E398 from blacktubi. Service is outstanding. 8pm sent & 12noon arrive the next day. Performance of the modem is excellent, even more stable & faster than my Maxis E372 u-8 on DC Mode. Since LTE is not here yet, i couldn't test it. Moreover, I have ask him tons of questions before the purchased, and he answer everyone of them CORRECTLY. Very hard to find seller that's as informative like him... Finally, the price I bought from him is cheaper than Maxis offering me on a contract basis... Where to find... :-) |

In the area where I lived, I used to get 1-2Mbps downloadspeed with marginal signal strength
(RSSI between -95 to -105 dBm). Despite there are a few nearby tower and cells. I wanted to upgrade to Huawei E372 modem and hopefully improve my signal with panel antenna. Instead, blacktubi recommended me to consider Huawei E398 modem (2G/3G/DC-HSPA+/LTE) instead. Service is great, arrived the following day. I am able to double my download speed between 3-4 mbps (thanks to DC-HSPA+). Signal strength improved marginally by 2 dB. I am using MDMA and MWconn connect manager interchangeably. The panel antenna arrived after 4 days. I mount outdoor facing the towers direction. To my surprise, my received signal is gained by -10 dB. (RSSI between -83 to -85 dBM). And my download speed can sustain between 6-8Mbps. Now I can stream HD video from youtube (720p or 1080p) smoothly. :-) I am satisfied with the money invested. Hope Maxis will expand LTE to my area and support Multi-SIM on legacy plan soon. Next I am looking to invest on TP-MR3420 router and cooling fan for E398. Definate thumbs up for blacktubi. Yes, its was very risky when using microsim on MF680, mine also kena stuck but i used a thin plastic to guide my microsim out BUT my i3Gs was not that lucky cause till now it is still stuck in my ipong , dare not tarik and the thin plastic is not helping too..... have to "dissect" my ipong when i have the tools I heard that E398 wont face this problem cause the pins are rounded |

QUOTE(arazman @ Jun 8 2013, 10:20 AM) In the area where I lived, I used to get 1-2Mbps downloadspeed with marginal signal strength In order to get excellent download speed, you need to find out the good feng shui spot, use good smart phone to do speedtest around your house. If your feng shui spot is near to the power plug, u need to invest TP-MR3420 v2 router + Aztech HomePlug AV 500Mbps Pass Through (1 pair).(RSSI between -95 to -105 dBm). Despite there are a few nearby tower and cells. I wanted to upgrade to Huawei E372 modem and hopefully improve my signal with panel antenna. Nearby cell tower can easily to get the excellent download speed like me around 18Mbps to 22Mbps (DC-HSPA+) , I use Aztech HomePlug AV 500Mbps to delivery the Internet connection from home outside power plug into my bedroom. |
