ahhh loving the 398 the one i bought from you !

item were receive friday morning as x-pected. placed order n done payment in tuesday 3/9.

weird to me as my n8 got celcom 3.5g full signal but not Huawei E398 U15.

Test detail as below
1. in lab close to open window
2. used 1st; win 7 64bit default dialing with nokia modem driver and Huawei E398 U15. after that using mdma w/ Huawei E398 U15 only.
3. n8 using default data cable n Huawei E398 U15 direct to usb port.
4. force Huawei E398 U15 using mdma's band config to only search 900/2100 mhz signal, but no avail.
5. force again with all default setting in mdma x-cept connection type 3g/lte signal only and no avail too.

bring back to my house, using my maxis bb, this guy rock. no need further x-planation. still my hp can get both mxis and celcom 3.5g 9 both full bar) but Huawei E398 U15 got mxs get DC-HSPA+ only. sorry missed out tht info.

b4 i grab ext. 3g antenna, any work around i miss?

no, it can received edge or more slower than 3g.

btw. mxis on E398 got DC-HSPA+ at my home only. sorry i missed out tht earlier.

E398 lack of 900Mhz but it support DC-HSPA+ 2100Mhz
900Mhz is a lot slower but the signal penetration is a bit better than 2100Mhz.
On LTE E398 full band, if your place no means no.

In that case, please update the firmware to the below one see if it improve the situation.

Your Celcom get only EDGE right?
Try change your setting to WCDMA only/preferred when you installing Celcom SIM card into the unit.
It happen to me earlier and I apply the above setting and it done well.
