The bubble blowers will provide stiff opposition having beaten Chelsea. The first goal should have been disallowed though. Carlton Cole was clearly boning Ivanovich.
The team that benefitted the most from this week's fixtures is the mancs.

QUOTE(Ken @ Dec 2 2012, 12:18 PM) hi so called elite member each week also got many excuses to bash mancs aka manchester scums ... so this week can't blame linesman and referee right because rvp second valid goal was not given, and the penalty also looks valid, may be not from you because any penalty given to united also not valid. back to the fixture, i think you really talk rubbish if city to win the match, united the 1 that get the most pressure, so i don't understand what you mean by benefit the most ... may be because united get 3 points while city drop 2 points ... OMG it's fine that you don't speak perfect English but not when it means you can't comprehend what I'm saying. Did you not benefit from Chelsea and Arsenal losing, and City drawing? How the effing ell is that bashing??? Did I say you were lucky to win, Reading shoukd have won or anything to that effect? Damn some people are sensitive. Doesn't help when they have comprehension issues to top it off. Added on December 2, 2012, 1:55 pmBack to more pressing issues. Jan Molby is backing Darren Bent for the job. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/285667/? This post has been edited by Duke Red: Dec 2 2012, 01:55 PM

I think it's obvious our problems lie in finding ways to put the ball into the back of the net. This has been reiterated time and time again since Dalglish's tenure. On a more positive note though, we are now spurning easier chances. Under Dalglish, the team managed a lot of shots on goal, but most were from range. I don't have stats to prove this, only vague memory of what I read and personal observation. Whilst the team may still be spurning chances under Rodgers, we've missed a whole lot of opportunities inside the box. The stats are deceptive because a lot of the opportunities we've missed inside the box were skied, at not on target. This would suggest that Rodger's approach to football is showing some results. Having said all that, we're still taking a fair shair of shots from outside the box but with very little accuracy (27% on target) - http://www.eplindex.com/22152/liverpool-wr...s-analysis.html. Even Gerrard has been sending them way wide and unlike when we had Alonso, we don't have any other midfielder renowned for scoring from 20 yards and beyond. Now 40% of our shots are from outside of the box which isn't that much more than Barcelona (44%), who will pass the ball around until they create an opening inside the box. However, we just don't hit the target from there often enough. The solution from what I can tell therefore would be to be more patient in possession, find openings inside the box even if it means we take less shots on goal. The idea is to create quality chances, and not just chances. We seem to be moving in that direction already, but need to further bring down the percentage of shots we take from outside the box, even if Stevie is on the ball.

In regards to Raheem Sterling, let's look at one possible scenario shall we?
We've been heavily linked to Walcott and the last I heard, it was speculated that Arsenal were willing to offer $8million plus Theo Walcott for Raheem Sterling. Assuming this is real, will a deal make sense?
Raheem Sterling is said to be asking for $50,000 a week. Let's assume this is true for the sake of argument. Theo Walcott is earning somewhere between $75,000 - $85,000 per week depending on which source you check. This would mean that we'd be paying anywhere between, $25,000 - $35,000 more per week assuming Walcott's salary remains the same. This translates to $1,680,000 a year. Now if Arsenal are offering $8,000,000 plus Walcott, this effectively means they've paid for the difference for the next 4-5 years. A simplistic way of looking at it without taking into account inflation and so on but it does look worth it if the deal is on. I mean Walcott may not be consistent but he's a proven Premiership talent. It does still remain to be seen if Sterling realises his potential.
Then again, if Sterling settles for less, say $25,000 - $30,000 which I feel is more than fair, it's worth the risk to see if he'll turn into a Premiership star. If he does blossom, his contract can always be renegotiated at the end of the season.

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Dec 3 2012, 12:07 PM) I think the fans will feel aggrieved and there will be unrest among the fans if Raheem go to Arse while Theo comes here. The general idea is to add, not exchange. Not sure if it will goes down well but if he's acting like a greedy SOB asking for 50K a week, then I say let the Jamaican Reggae Boy go. Then use the $8mil to get another player. Yup, we cannot give in to greed. It's like America's policy when it comes to terrorist, "we do not negotiate". Player power is a dangerous thing and has a habit of spreading like wildfire. Real Madrid players were upset when Raul was dropped in favour of Michael Owen, despite the latter not having scored in 30 games. AVB had a hard time when he dropped the likes of Terry and Lampard. Michael Essien refused to play for Lyon after his transfer to Chelsea was blocked. The list goes on. Fact of the matter is if Raheem bullies his way into getting what he wants, and it isn't something we are willing to give, there is no way the club can bow to his demands. It will set a very unhealthy precedence for the future. Ceteris paribus, I'd like to keep Raheem instead of exchanging him for Walcott but sadly, variables do matter in a world that isn't ideal and nothing's equal. In terms of adding and not exchaging, I think Walcott is the better player as it stands. There are strong indications that Raheem will be a fantastic player with his bag of tricks, but all that dribbling has to amount to an end product i.e. an assist or a goal. He may mature of course but as it is, I can only make a solid judgement based on the present.

Nice piece on Sterling. He is emotionally volatile which is something that needs to be considered especially when you are looking to tie down a teenager on a mid-long term deal worth $50,000 a week. Earlier this season, it was already that he was homesick and looking to move back to London, coincidentally, where Arsenal reside (http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/liverpool-could-lose-homesick-starlet).

Lucas had to adapt to a new role. He was Steven Gerrard at Gremio. Try telling Gerrard to stay in front of the back four now. Rafa showed a lot of faith in him by giving him the time to reinvent himself but it wasn't a secret that he didn't have the easiest of times and was often, below average.
In this day and age when a manager can get fired after just a few games in charge, it's rare for a player to be given so much time to develop. Lucas (and us fans of course) was lucky that Rafa was there to protect him. Rafa had faith that Lucas would reinvent himself into a strong defensive player in time. It's not often that a manager signs a player who he thinks could take up to two seasons to adapt given the impatience shown by owners and fans these days. Henderson was massacred despite being played on the right and not the middle. Going by Lucas years, he has another year to prove himself.

QUOTE(lerijiso @ Dec 3 2012, 02:03 PM) Err..i have no idea what is going on here but why all the hostility towards sterling? Off-field issue aside, i thought he did well in the last game. A bit wasteful (he's 18) but he contributed and did his job on the right flank and give Jonson more room to burst up the field. He definitely a better choice than downing or assaidi. Of course I have not been keeping up with the current news for the last few days. can you guys fill me in on it. I think it's more bewilderment and doubt than hostility. If Sterling is holding out for $50,000 a week which I feel is too much, it leaves me wondering what he thinks he's actually done to justify such a massive pay hike? The led to some posters questioning the logic behind such a price tag e.g. other than dribble past defenders, has he produced the end product (e.g. goals, assists)? Will Walcott be a better alternative? I mean if he is asking for that amount, he needs to have a darn good reason why? My 2 cents.

QUOTE(led_zep_freak @ Dec 3 2012, 02:42 PM) I have this impression that guys who have good physique are actually soft inside (No, I'm not referring to that part). It's the unsuspecting, friendly ones that are the most sinister. Correct! How many of these guys look like Brock Lesnar? http://listverse.com/2007/08/22/top-10-evil-serial-killers/QUOTE(led_zep_freak @ Dec 3 2012, 02:42 PM) Don't be fooled by Dillon's friendly looks, touch one of his girls and you'll never make it out of the pub alive. In fact you'll be walking with a tongkat for the rest of your life. Puts a whole new meaning to YNWA. Plus Dillion is perenially drunk by the sounds of it. Drunk people are know to display the following traits :- 1) Invincibility. Alcohol numbs the sense and Dillion can take more damage than an M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank. 2) Lapses in judgement meaning Dillion may convince himself that he can javelin Goldberg. 3) Blurred vision meaning Dillion will be throwing punches, kicks and headbutts in random directions, making his attacks difficult to anticipate. 4) Memory loss meaning Dillion will have no qualms over kicking you in the face as he knows he won't remember meeting you anyway. QUOTE(Everdying @ Dec 4 2012, 10:41 AM) we got old whiskey nose, and now we got a old man... jan 13th is a possibility. Added on December 4, 2012, 10:43 amactually jan 13th...why not sunway giza? i'm sure there'll be something going on then... unless myrawk wants to do something...which seems unlikely. Giza is fine so long as our schedule doesn't clash with more financied clubs. We can go to Bola or Beer Factory. Both have decent sized screens. The alternative is George n the Dragon in BSC. I used to watch games there and Liverpool fans do patronise the place.
