scratch resistance is same, just that in terms of strength(breaking) it's almost twice as strong, so to achieve the same strength, you can use half of the thickness compared to if it was using the first gen gorilla glass which is what most manufacturers do to achieve that 'thinnest phone' status.

oh ok... I wont know the thickness on the Note2 but as long its similarly scratch resistant as the old glass, I think its good enough without a screen protector (my usage) Thanks

i dont really like SP,previously i used galaxy S,the 1st phone with gorilla glass and survived w/o any scratch,then changed to S II and gave it to my fiancee,still survived (even in woman handbag which is full of stuff ) iphone 4s also survived. gorilla glass never let me down. heh heh heh

IMHO, SP (made of polymer/plastic) is much easier to scratch than glass.

My current phone has a SP... and there are more scratches on it (SP) than my two previous older phones which DIDN'T have SP.

No SP for my tablets.

Casing is another matter. Unfortunately all of them are unpopular Motorola phones. Which means, no casing...
So the phones are rather dinged up.
