no, the 170 is 2.0ghz while the 165 is 1.8ghz

in term of overclocking is opteron 170 better than 165???

i'm not sure about this
but these 2 are worth the money though.
just take either one, they are high ocbililty dual core proc.

sometimes u need to lowered ur cpu multi to get highest HTT

opty 165 has unlocked multi of 9 downwards while
opty 170 has unlocked multi of 10 downwards..

opty 165 price around 1.4k while
opty 170 price around 1.9k
