has anyone here gotten or is planning to get the SSD from apple ? i heard in terms of applications performance it doesnt improve much but start up times and booting is much shorter. and it saves batteries too since theres no moving parts.

Don't get SSD's from Apple. Buy only Intel X-25M Generation 2 SSD. They are the best. Provide read speeds up to 250MB. While Apple's SSD only up to 80MB.

I'm using Intel SSD and I'm one happy customer.  biggrin.gif

Now around RM900 range for the 80GB unit. It's a good investment if compared to RAM or other stuff.  smile.gif

i was just looking around the local website and i can get an 80gb intel ssd x25-m for as low as CAD$260. thats a fairly resonable price (can even get cheaper thru chraiglist tongue.gif) 80gb wouldnt be a problem at all since all my movies, tv series and musics are all stored on my desktop. so yeah, tahnks for the recommendation nod.gif

you really dont looks like girl inside the photo, you have fair alot knowledge in computing hardware.

SSD is really great performance pack, but price wise, still expensive perGB
secondly, really depends what you use for

who needs 500BHP to run on road?

my main priority is portability (the main reason of me getting the 13" MBP instead of the 15" or the 17", couldve gotten the 13" MBW but no firewire). so ssd is a good investment since its more energy efficient (better for battery conservation) and less fragile (since there are no moving parts).

i got it right away from the apple store for CAD$73 after pst and gst. i dont recommend this mouse for gamers tho since the right click function wont activate if you have two fingers on the mouse.
