just plug in fully, and then use the creative speaker test. hear whether all your channels correct or not. for music, no center sound, and most games dont use center channel too. only DVDs which use center channel for dialogue. to test whether working, use the surround speaker test, where u'll hear the woman voice 'front left, center, front right, rear left, rear right'. if u can hear all 5, then its working fine

generally, burn in is just to leave the speaker on playing music. after 1 month, the drivers will be loosened up because when its new, its stiff and not as loose as after burning in.

to make the burn in process faster, use the program yingfan posted up lor.

the R401 bass is tight, not as loose as X600.
