Dono about kl, but just for everybody's info, I did mine b-full only rm390 at rakan ehsan meru.

Back then in 2009. But i believe the price hasnt changed. In fact another friend of mine can arrange for b-full test at rm400, as of today, but i dono where the school is la. Same requirement, b2 sudah ada, L license self activate.

Blade is a sport-styled street bike. Maintain 140-160 is ok, going 180-200 is pushing it and the bike will definitely breakdown soon.

Unless if u are willing to spend abt rm50-55k, a used 2009-2012 zx6r would be the bike to play at that speed. But go so fast for wat? Tak sabar mau masuk kubur?

40k+ can get used z7/z8 which can cruise 160 just nice (balanced between speed, wind resistance and engine capability) or about rm20-30k can get used er6/versys that can cruise 140-160 comfortably whole at the same timecheaper maintenance and petrol.

I might sound kawa-biased but seriously, those are the bikes that we can balance between price, reliability and rideability. Anything else, u get one thing good but bad at the other. Whatever it is, u really have to seriously consider, why do u ride a bike for? What kind of riding do u intend to do? Do u have the means to ride big bikes? Are u ready to take on the risks? Do u have riding experience? All questions must be deeply considered, as big biking is no cheap hobby, and is an injury prone activity.

Otherwise, i suggest if u are a total noob, then get started slowly and small by using a kapchai.

tell me, do you seriously believe that you are actually travelling at 180kmh when the meter shows you 180kmh??
no, my fren, usually on most 250cc bikes, 180kmh on meter might actually be 150-160kmh on actual speed.
hell even on big bikes they dont show you exact speed, probably about 10km/h off. well except if your bike has a magneti marelli speedometer lah.

either way, have you questioned yourself why do you need that speed? do you plan on playing track? or just wana go wild on the street?

again as i have mentioned before, motorcycling is risky. especially if you ride public roads. i used to ride a 250 too and i too wanted something faster. when i upgraded, i always whack my versys to the max (about 170+kmh) specially on karak and NSE, trying to give them supersports and litrebikes a little fight. but after a while i mellowed down. nowadays 140 cruising (abt 130 on gps) is just nice. not too fast, just nice. go so fast for what? destination wont run away. our safety is the utmost importance.

these are 2 most valuable words some otais advised me

lastly, i am not discouraging you from upgrading, just a friendly reminder as a fellow biker to seriously consider so you would be a responsible biker. know your limits and ride safely within the limit. riding is not about going top speed all the time. it is enjoying the process and the experience. leave the speeding to racing.

tell u what - i live in kapar. work near times square. i travel kapar-kl-kapar every workday. that is 96km back and forth EVERY DAY. been doing this since 2006. and i am only riding modenas kapchais to and from work. your 30-40 km is far? lel.

if commuting is all you do on the bike, then go for 2nd hand kawa er6 lah... can be had cheaply between RM20-26k. higher handlebars also makes riding in traffic alot easier compared to the sports-styled blade 650r.

Well well... It seems that u have already set your heart on the blade. So go ahead and get the blade 650r then. Apart from the size and the weight, this bike is as normal as any street bike can be. Fine for commuting since it has wide torque range. but i would advise against going top speed all the time. This bike is not very good in the handling and braking dept for that kinda speed. U might wana consider investing in better brake pads, rear shock and tyres.

This is my friend on his blade 650 tbr version. Ebc hh pads with steel braided lines, pilot power 3 tyres and nitron 2-way adjustable shocks, custom built for his weight. His riding skill has improved greatly since upgrading from ninja250r.





but just one last piece of opinion, since u only intend to keep the bike for 2-3 yrs, it is mush worthier to buy a 1-2 yr old blade.... About rm16-20k. They're cheaper and when u want to sell, you dont lose much compared to buying new. In fact another friend of mine didnt make any loss, selling his blade at the same price he bought used after 1.5 yr ownership. His other friend, instead made profit rm 1-2k even. But again, it is your money. Your decision.

MT07 is nice, light and easy to handle. in fact due to the combined factor of extra abit cc and lighter weight than er6n (2009 - 2016 model) this bike feels like the better bike than er6n.

reliability - so far i havent heard of any major issue complaints. being an inline twin, i say their FC, maintenance and running cost (engine oil, chain, tyres) should be the same.

however JUST IN CASE of major repairs (like accident, touch wood) you can expect better support in terms of spare parts availability with Kawasaki than Hong Leong Yamaha. Also, since ER6 has been in the market for so long with lotsa owners, u may expect the range of aftermarket accessories to be bigger and maybe cheaper, compared to what's available to Yamaha bikes.

so it falls back to how much you are willing to lay out in acquiring a used bike. if you have the cash to throw, then go for mt07 which is above 20+k in the used market. otherwise an er6 can be had for below 20k. With ER6 just make sure the bike has undergone the valve replacement programme.

on sideline, the new z650/ninja650 is a major revision than the er6n/f. much smaller, and lighter, comes with ABS standard, slipper clutch. if you're in the market for a NEW bike, i would suggest giving the ninja650 a good look. the z650 on the other hand, i was told that the weight reduction plus the lack of wind protection has made the bike abit floaty on highway speed - so i would pick mt07 over the z650.

Oh it can cruise 140-160 long distance just fine. The engine is capable for it. But is the rider capable for it is the better question to ask. If u are talking blade R, u are only asking for sakit buntut and sakit pinggang. If blade naked then maybe suffer lesser. Slap on a tall givi windshield.
