The audiences weren't particularly well-behaved. They would boo and throw things at the actors if they didn't like the play. There would be boos, catcalls, whisper, toots, yells, murmur, whistle, shrieks, jeers, laughs, roars or would pelt shoes,rotten eggs or in fact anything.They could also go on a rampage on the stage or damage, break and set the hall on fire.

This is why it's important to know the audience what will they expected because they pay to watch the show.
