Hi All, I'm new towards the Unit Trust Investment and would like to clarify the below points with all 1. When the fund house publish the return rate, does it taken the maintenance fee into the consideration? Let's say 10% YTD return, does this YTD included managemet fee deducted? 2. It's best to buy with the fund house itself (such as AFFIN, Kenaga Directly), or via Fund Supermart? I saw Fund supermart having some sales charge and platform charge... not too sure if buying directly with the fund house it self will be cheaper.. Thanks for the advise

QUOTE(David_Yang @ Jan 24 2021, 03:26 PM) The management fee is taken out by the funds company on a monthly or quarterly basis. So it is included in the performance data. About the sales charge do take note that Malaysias mantra "All rates are negotiable" certainly is valid here also. QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jan 24 2021, 11:17 AM) 1. If the YTD is calculated based on posted daily NAV, then it's a nett return. During purchases, you have paid for the sales charge also. 2. Buying from FSM or eUT is cheaper in term of sales charge. Thanks, so all kind of maintenance fee, trustee fee etc are included in the performance data, except sales charge which is charged by the sales agent/platform, and excluded from the performance data right?

QUOTE(David_Yang @ Jan 25 2021, 01:02 AM) Basically yes. Not important for you, but not all of the sales charge is collected by the seller and not all of the management fee by the funds company. They need to share That is why sales agents / platforms / banks can sometimes sell with zero sales charge and still have imcome. Thanks for the explanation. Would like to know the "effective return" after deduction of sales charge and management fee etc, and now it's all cleared
