Currently my emergency reserves are in multiples of my net income. Feel that I'm putting aside too much earning a meagre 3.2-4% p.a. hmm.gif

Prudent financial management entails keeping AT LEAST 6 months of your net income or monthly expenses in liquid form (cash, savings accounts, short maturity instruments, FDs etc)

I kept mine in FDs and conservative bond funds

I reserve my emergency reserve of 6 months of my gross income in cash and cash convertible excluding unit trust or any trust account.

Dave u...GROSS INCOME? Worse than mine laugh.gif

What "cash convertibles" u having? Can share? icon_idea.gif

Mine is in AmIncome Plus (which invests in high-grade bonds with maturity of less than 2 years) and OSK-UOB Income Fund (a fairly conservative bond fund, even more conservative than AmBond)

Bro same as you. Parents not working and no insurance.

Cash convertible and/or cash equivalent: basically saving account and FD.

wah.. that's more than 10% drop leh.. in one day, max drop 10% only & KLSE's short-circuit mechanism will kick in & shutdown KLSE wor.
Thus technically can't drop to that level today tongue.gif

BTW, now (ie. lapsed 10 to 15 minutes data) 1.68%+ down
I'm getting "stimulated" here heheh sweat.gif
