fund is not 'confirmed' earning. there are risks and if you don't know the financial market well, you will lose money. i had already lost 5 figures in funds.

Use this to check the fund performance for past 1, 3, 5 years. It needs to be consistent.

https://www.fsmone.com.my/funds/tools/chart-centre

What works last time may not work in the future.

If you ask me what fund to buy and hold for 20-30 years? There is only one fund..

Come I spoon-feed you.
Buy TA global tech. Every month just buy. Don't look at returns. Come back after 20-30 years.

TnG GoInvest Investival Promo 2024 5% / 8% p.a

this one good or not?

Minimum investment RM200.
but need to hold cash from 1-30 July 2024 to get the profit.

<RM10,000 = 5% p.a
>RM10,001 = 8%

Here’s how much bonus you’ll earn if you deposit:

• RM1,000 = RM4
• RM5,000 = RM21
• RM8,000 = RM33
• RM12,000 = RM79
• RM20,000 = RM132

Promo ends 30th June 2024.

2.5 Years Net Loss about 25% of my money.. ;(

2.5 years is too short in terms of UTF investment (doesn't matter from which company you buy from). Usually after 2 years, review and see the overall performance, if needed, switch to a trending fund where they explore into industries that are gaining momentum. But generally, at least 5 years you'll see your annualized gains after consistent investment throughout this period (taking into consideration bearish and bullish markets). If you're looking at it as fast income, then UTF is not for you, better you spend time to learn trading. Use the rule of 72 to calculate how long to double your investments.

i really regret buying the unit trust funds during mco time.. all making big losses up to -70%.
i don't know if they'll ever recover
*
MCO time was generally a good time to invest... and yes, markets kept dropping until recently (March 2024 - now)... this is mainly due to the external global issues spoiling everything for everyone from all directions. However, relook into the funds that you have invested into, don't sell yet, might have a solution for recovery. PM me if you want some advice and a review with no strings attached.

Hi all, I'm a freelancer, basically managing the website / editing part of the job scope for a friend's overseas company.

Let's say that for example every month I have only RM 200-250 of extra money, and I get to choose between putting it in long-term investment like ETF or EPF, which should I go for ? I know it's mandatory for employees to put 11% of their monthly salary into EPF, but as a freelancer, where should I choose to put this extra cash into ? EPF or ETF investments ?

Put in EPF may be eligible for tax relief

So even me being a freelancer, I should make it a habit to put 11% of my monthly salary into EPF consistently ?

Built up your emergency funds 9f around 6 -12 months of monthly required expenses first.
Then only decide where you want to put that extra into.

Regarding the % to save, ...as much as possible but can also no need all onto kwsp. As Money into epf has lock in period.
If you are young, learn to built a portfolio of etfs for your investment portfolio

Ok got it, so in that sense, EPF will be the last option for me, and only to put into EPF if I have extra funds, if not then put aside savings, then ETF investment ( which I am already putting in monthly ) then lastly EPF right ?

I guess it also has to depend on the amount of tax saving you will get.
The amount of less taxes you will pay for that self contribution amount.
(Your tax bracket %).

If the tax saving is not much....and if the risk appetite can take it, ...hentam all into etfs . Ha ha ha
