QUOTE(birdman13200 @ Jan 21 2013, 09:46 PM) Ya, planning to get some oversea fund thru FSM. But my current holding of malaysia fund in PM still in loss, my target to sell it when around 5% profit. It was a mistake 2 years ago buying few PM funds with same portfolio. Bro.. What were your plan last time when buying in those PM funds? Lump sum or DDI for long term?To me, I will continue keep the funds and average down if market is down. Every year, will re look into them and if see some profit, will rebalance and try to minimized same exposure fund. If your investment in those funds are huge amount, then direr rent story for me la. If I can't sleep because of a drop more than 5%, then I will shift part of it to bond. Just me la, I am expecting drop of 5-10% comming GE. But don't quote me la... |

QUOTE(birdman13200 @ Jan 21 2013, 10:37 PM) I am newbie to UT 2 year ago, without knowing much info, walk in PB look for PGF, end up I only i can buy PB series fund. So I decide on PBGF on the spot, and it is the only fund with agent (the bank agent which I not really know him, he did keep on call me for promotion when I keep on top up every month.) Bro.. me same as you, started UT investing 2 years back. I hv apply PMO at the same time. After that, i buy PGF online. It is because I choose it before go to PB and feel must buy it. It was the first mistake, buy 2 growth that nearly same portfolio. Actually I can see the NAV everyday hv the same pattern. After few months, I get know that PSMALLCAP is open for investment again, I quickly buy it with DDI, and I don't know it is mistake or lucky. Mistake side, buying all Malaysia equity fund, no diversification at all. Lucky side, PSMALLCAP is the fund make my total investment return with positive number. For sure I can sleep well with drop happen, i did prepare for total drop not more than 25%. My challenge now is to exit from 1 or 2 malaysia equity fund and shift to asia or global fund. I am looking for a good timing. my fund is not in huge amount, i am not rich guy, also same mistake as you.. bought too many almost same funds from PM and UOB Bank. I have yet to rebalance to cut down my same exposure funds as profit not much yet (not achieve my target). Once achieve, I will rebalance them (for OSKUOB funds). As for PM funds.. i will just leave it as it is at the moment. Once in a blue moon will top up few hundred la.. Main focus now on UT investing is at FSM.. |

QUOTE(birdman13200 @ Jan 21 2013, 11:20 PM) I feel lucky to get in this forum, and make me known to FSM. My initial purpose joining Lowyat forum is because buying a new Lenovo laktop and require some advice from forum here. After I settled down my laktop, I see around the forum and found here. Between FSM and PM, I am not deciding the focus yet, i only can tell after I get some UT from FSM. Currently, my DDI in PM still will be maintained. haha... it is a learning process here. I am learning from ppl here as well..You should go to FSM investment fair and check out if you are comfortable investing through them or not? |

QUOTE(hafiez @ Jan 25 2013, 10:01 PM) ur fault if client failed to understand. ah.. if EPF then better as your client can't touch the money till retire.. so need to learn alot and explain to client. on my side, my clients only want to know the initial investment and current value. how long, they dont care as long as can outrun EPF divy p.a. ... YES i manage EPF investment only. cash only a bit. not close to 6 figures. it took me few months to remove the scared feelings to meet client. now im still scared but slowly fade away the feeling. praise to god. ---edit-- bolded part; that is my time to strike the market. it's an opportunity for me. if i met 10 potential, 3-4 will invest during this time. provided they understand the risk. CWA doesnt give insight of opportunities and outlook of the market in 2013 and beyond (3 yrs down)? Something like FSM has their in-house research and their CIS will recommend the investment based on that and also customer's needs and risk profile la.. |
