I created a new Bnet account just to research and answer this (and later, other similar questions on other threads).

Here's what I have gathered:

1. If your Bnet account's country is within SEA (in my case, I used Philippines), you DO NOT have the option to buy an SC2 account from sea.battle.net. This means that Blizzard does not sell SEA accounts from Bnet anymore.

2. If you choose LA/KR/TW/EU as your game region, the Bnet website will allow you to purchase SC2WoL or the WoL/HotS bundle.

3. If you choose your game region as North America (or attempt to purchase from us.battle.net), SC2 is unavailable option.

4. The Blizzard store will ship to the address you entered in your Bnet account. Ground shipping (within US) takes 8 to 10 business days. Expect 10 to 15 (or more) business days when shipped internationally.

5. Since the Blizzard store is based in the US (only), your SC2 purchase will be the NA version/region. Even if you access the Blizzard store from the SEA website (sea.blizzard.com), it will redirect you to the US store (us.blizzard.com/store)

I could only offer a couple of ideas as to why we can't purchase the NA version (#3 above).

- it's a bug
- Blizzard is beginning the process of combining SEA and NA (similar to Diablo 3's Americas server) and will re-enable the option to purchase WoL once SEA and NA has been combined (in other words, global play).

There are a number of retail stores that still sell SEA accounts. I know a couple in Midvalley Megamall and one in Sungei Wang, and I'm sure many stores in Lowyat and Digimall sell too. And I'm sure, you will still get an NA account with the SEA box purchase. Unfortunately, buying a new retail box will cost you at least RM170.

So what I am saying is, tough luck. Until you see the SC2 option available on us.battle.net, you just can't do anything. You could purchase WoL only or the WoL/HotS bundle from the LA/KR/TW/EU region though. If you don't mind waiting until global play becomes live, then that is your best option.

You could also try to call Blizzard customer support.

thanks for the replies

but if i purchase the retail box here, does it have access to NA server? i read somewhere in this subforum that SEA version grants u access to US (NA) and SEA server, thats why its more expensive. is it still true?

My post already answers your question.

But here it is again:

Brand new, the SEA box has always been priced no more than MYR 220 since SC2 was released in July 2010. But the reason it being more expensive is not because you get NA access with your SEA box. Local retailers simply sold it at that rate. Even Blizzard sold the digital SEA version on Bnet at SGD 90 (still around MYR 220).

FYI, back in July 2010, I was still in the Philippines when I bought my WoL accounts. I paid PHP 3500 each. PHP 3500 is MYR 260 in today's money. Talk about expensive.

Go to Lelong.com.my. There are a number of listings selling the SEA WoL box at MYR 169. There's one seller selling it at MYR 155. Very affordable if you ask me.

Having the same issue here, really disappointed that I can't get it for that cheap. Fortunately theres still the EU version selling for 20 euros, which is around RM80 here. Do you think I should just get it? Is the lag tolerable? hmm.gif

No idea. I don't have an EU account. If you have Diablo3, log in to the EU server. That should give you an estimate of the lag.

We can't tell you what to do, simply because it's your money. It's up to you how you want to spend your hard-earned money. But if you do get it, it'll be a LONG while before you could play with us, or your friends who already have SEA/NA.

I'm having the same problem as you are except that I have already loaded $20 of balance to purchase this game!!
Sadly, I'm also seeking a way around this as I don't want my money to be wasted. I should have checked before I load the balance.
If you guys know anything please share thanks sad.gif

You could probably get the LA version (which is part of NA). Although I'm just not sure that if by getting this, you have English as a language option. If I remember correctly, LA has Mexican Spanish as the only language option.

Or get the EU version then wait for global play to kick in.

Anyone who trying to buy the NA region SC2...
Here's the solution. Create a NA account with your address stated United States or any North America country.
You cannot use any account outside of the NA region, it will only show "Starcraft II is currently not available in your region."

I just bought the NA SC2 with HOTS bundle for USD 59.99...
For your information. after i purchase the SC2 NA digital copy, they notify me that i do not need to purchase or upgrade HOTS for other account, BECAUSE

HOTS will be officially global play for everyone at 3rd of December 2012 PST 12:00AM... =D

Hope it helps...

for now the blizzard store have digital bundle version wol + hots at SGD75 RM180. and wol digital version is SGD69 RM170.

Does it sounds logical as hots expansion only RM10??

And digital version will not have shipping of box to my address right?

It's logical because they want people to buy HotS, simple marketing 101.
Anyways, digital is digital. No physical box/disc, you have to download the client yourself.
