Thanks for the comments
1) Still in the experimentation stage. I'm truly inspired by works from Heart Patrick who love to use such tones. However, I will be experimenting more on colour as I progress further

2) Ahhh still yet to grasp the techniques of skin retouching/smoothening. Will try to look more into it

3) Yeah, shallow DOF will certainly help to isolate the messy background. Just got my Canon 35 f/2 for more shallow DOF shots. Will use it for my next assignment for sure

If you are using APSC,I don't think Canon 35 f/2 give good depth of field.
Moreover,35mm on APSC is not wide enough to cover a wedding especially chinese wedding.
My suggestion is get your self a 5Dmark I if you are on budget, currently use is around RM2.5k-2.8k.You will surprise how much different the quality of photo it turns out.Well if you have budget, you can always go for Canon 5Dmark II,Canon 6D,Canon 5D mark III or even 1DX
If you into chinese wedding, you need a zoom lens.24-70 range at F/2.8 is the best if only 1 lens.If you are rich enough to have 2 body.I would suggest
- during ceremony:16-35 F/2.8 and 50mm F/1.4(F/1.2 if you are deep pocket)
- during dinner:16-35 F/2.8 and 70-200 F/2.8
As for colour, probably it is just me.I prefer soft and easy colour tone for actual wedding day. While leave the creative toning for portrait,pre-wedding & fashion.Or just 1 or 2 creative toning is sufficient

Creative toning,but keep it minimum
