QUOTE(lokgotz @ Jan 8 2013, 12:34 AM) What do you mean? There are 30 stars in total. One for each year of G-Shock's existence. Z symbol is mean Zulu Time or UTC Time for short. When you use it, it will point back to UTC time in anywhere in the world but depends on which time zone you are in. Example, if your local time is say 4:47p.m or 16:47, when you press the bottom Z button, it will point to 12 o'clock UTC time for couple of seconds (UTC time is 08:47). This is useful for pilot to know the exact UTC time against local time. In other words, Zulu Time also known as Military Time. Anyway, more pics! Outer box ![]() Inner box ![]() Inside the box ![]() The watch - The Thirty Stars Sky Cockpit - GW-A1030A-1AJR ![]() The hang tag and its official name ![]() 30 stars on the golden coloured metal strap keeper. ![]() Gold coloured back plate. Unlike the other 30th Anniversary models and most other G-Shocks, this is not engraved. It is cast. Really nice! ![]() I remember I read somewhere that this "Z" on the button means something. The normal ones doesn't have the "Z" symbol. Gotta dig out the article. ![]() Since 1983 ![]() Multiband 6 + Tough Solar ![]() I have to say, this is the hardest watch to set, G-Shock or non G-Shock. Then again, it is not meant to be set manually since it has Multiband 6 feature. It even automatically adjusts the date for months without 30th and 31st! Really happy with the purchase. Well below retail price too. cheers, gshockrocks P/S: Nice 30 Star Watch you have lokgotz, I will get my standard GW-A1000-1DR very soon..... QUOTE(lokgotz @ Jan 8 2013, 11:02 AM) Oh, now I understand what you're saying. The Clot X G-Shock and the Burton X G-Shock are the other two. The third one I cancelled my order because don't really like it. It's a vintage G-Shock. The reason is simple, due to facing stiff competition from Citizen & Seiko, Casio now realized that some MB6 model need to be sold in SEA Market even tough the MB6 is not working in here. However there is a good sign that G's are now a premium watch which we have seen in the Aviator line of the 1000 series. No need to PM lah. Not really a secret anyway. I buy most of my G-Shock on eBay. Hehe. Multiband doesn't work in Malaysia. In fact, Multiband models were not for sale in Malaysia, until recently. I had a long explanation/discussion with one other forummer with regards to this in the old thread. cheers, gshockrocks |

Not forget also including the Vibrator Alam function, powered by our PC BIOS battery CR2032 with 5 years + battery life if your seldom use the light & alarm functions.![]() ![]() ![]() cheers, gshockrocks |

QUOTE(advocado @ Mar 13 2013, 07:37 PM) Am wondering is there a G5600 version of this color? Because so far i only see the DW version on sale. What is the best price & where to get? DW-5600 = Battery powered G's using CR2016 ![]() Also what is the difference between GLX-5600? G-5600 = Solar Powered G, using rechargeable battery CTL1616 GLX-5600 = Battery powered G's using CR2025, adding moon phase & tide graph (which is sharing the same features on GLX-150 or Gulfman G-9100). |

QUOTE(cagar11th @ Mar 26 2013, 11:26 AM) just bought one GDF-100-1B from ebay seller, back of the watch stated Stainlees Steel Back JAPAN Y while on resin buckle stated Casio Thailand. is this watch fake or legit?....wondering why the strap come from Thailand while the watch made in japan?.... G-Shock is made by either 3 Casio factories: Japan, China & Thailand. If your case back is stated Japan Y, means is fully Made In Japan (especially the module). But the strap may source from Thailand or China. Don't worry, is genuine G. Note: Japan Y = It's mean from Casio Japan, Yamagata Factory. QUOTE(sugaan @ Mar 15 2013, 12:32 AM) hai guys, any opinions on G-9100-2DR(gulfman)? i found a retailer who is offering it for RM300. Just worried abt the authenticity. he said the shop at pertama kompleks and warranty claims can only be done via the shop. RM300 is good deal for blue Gulfman. To check the authenticity you may inspect some element:a) The wording GULFMAN is at top (below the word "Shock Resist") b) Check the caseback, there a turtle with a ninja sword picture engrave on it, material is made by titanium c) Check the wording on the strap, on top is "dual illuminatior" in white, bottom is written "rust resist" d) Try to press the mode button on the bottom left, make sure it's has tide mode, world time etc. e) Finally a module number 3088 which also indicate the back of the watch. |

QUOTE(sillybearz @ Mar 26 2013, 05:13 AM) Gpeople selling original or not, I am not too sure. But I kinda sure that he is not selling watches distributed by Marco Corporation (Sole distibutor for Casio Malaysia) G-Factory are all open by them. Correct. G-People is not Marco Dealer. They source it from a dealer in Langkawi which the main source is from Hong Kong or Taiwan. To claim whether any dealer who sell original or not, we collector must do own study first before confirm whether the model is existed in Casio archive. Gpeople might source his goods directly from overseas so called the pirate set, not from Marco so they would undercut Marco cost and they are able to sell cheaper, so warranty wise will have to send back to him and no shops will accept your watch for warranty claims. No1 knows pirate sets are original or fake lol, so to be safe I'd prefer to add a little bit more just to purchase Marco corp g shock. At least I will have peace in mind if my watch got problem lol Casio Japan is a perfect place to start, just key in DW-6900, there will more than 500+ model of these, putting an extension such as "KG", "PL" will point to specific model. If you are more keen on International, Jayvs of Hong Kong is excellent. Their data base is huge. From the vintage model to current models. Marco price is higher due they want control stock and sold some exclusive model in their G-Factory which also own by them. Of course their range is more than normal dealer, but the end it's up customer budget. If they willingly to spend their money on G-Factory is their decision. G-Shock is known for survival for years or even decade, the majority on today problem is module problem which need to be improve significantly, especially the China made solar module which detect early by my dealer before he sold to me. Of course I am not say that Made In Japan or Thailand have not problem, so of them did due to automation by machinery and mis-checked by QC. Just my 2 cent opinion This post has been edited by gshockrocks: Mar 26 2013, 01:53 PM |

QUOTE(sillybearz @ Mar 26 2013, 05:18 PM) Wow, you even know he sourced from dealer from langkawi. Yup, because I buy from a dealer known as G-Crew Trading which is the same source G-People take the stock.Btw, I heard some fake casio watches uses original casing but fake engine. Donno how true is this, anyway I am not surprised cause china can produce any fakes they want lol... Correct. Especially the Edifice range model. Casio China has issue a statement how to identify fake Edifice watches by observing the blue hologram sticker at the back of the watch. By using a hologram card reader, if a CASIO word is exist, then is genuine, if not it's fake. The same procedure apply on Canon genuine ink cartridges not long time ago. Of course, the module number of the watch need to check periodically at Casio online manual, if the number exist, the model exist, lastly you may observed the finishing and button position and function of the watch. If one of the function is not working according to module, then is fake. This post has been edited by gshockrocks: Mar 28 2013, 01:56 PM |
