QUOTE(Bill2012 @ Nov 24 2012, 03:12 PM)
thank you so much for the recommendations!
so i still could set up all this despite my cheap rig? just afraid because it is too cheap to to all of those..
hopefully no problem cuz will make my purchase next saturday smile.gif

btw if the rig no GPU, can i watch normal rmvb, avi and stuffs? and I dont gaming on this rig..

another question:

• Gigabyte N400A PSU-RM100 (PCZone)
• CM Elite 343 Casing-RM99
or
• Casing+psu combo RM59

also can i preffered casing + psu combo RM59 for this rig? or i must take the combo 199 (expensive one)

Intel Pentium G850 RM199
MSI H61M-P31-RM149
WD Caviar Blue 500GB RM169
LiteOn DVD Writer-RM60
Casing+psu combo RM59
Router mr3420
*
movie playback are taxing the CPU horsepower not GPU. Pentium G850 can play your movies well.

*ps* with proper codec, even older Intel Atom can play 720p movies.

Good for reference? I agree but for PcFair?  hmm.gif there is hardly any good offers there.. unless you're thinking of making a beeline to LYP instead of KLCC  thumbup.gif
*
indeed, LYP everyday PC Fair, while KLCC PC fair much more like laptop and broadband fair.

Anyone will to explain regarding Motherboard type ?

What's the different between a RM300 Z77 montherboard and RM1000 Z77 motherboard ?

Auto overclocking ? BIOS feature ? Able to overclock further ? The design ? expansion slot ? Support up to 4-way SLI/Crossfire ?

Why people willing to speed over RM1k just on a MOBO itself as it does not really contribute to performance ?

I remember there is "noob question" thread for asking some simply question, I hope mod can reopen the thread so that people like me can ask professional opinions there.
*
- better component = better lifespan and durability (better OC as well)
- more and better features (X-Fi chip, better LAN chip, N-way SLI/XFire, USB ports... etc)
- better layout (you'll appreciate it when you managing the cables)
- eye candy design (striking colours, cool looking heatsinks some even support watercooling)

although mobo doesn't directly contributes to the performance, but indirectly it does make some difference, especially for those OCers.

best choice would be getting the mid-range boards where the performance to price ratio is at the sweet spot. but for those who got the money to burn of course they choose to get the more expensive option.

i just bought this rig
AMD X4 FX 4100
ASROCK 970DE3/U3S3
KINGSTON 4GB

XIGMATEK TAUR0 500W
CM K350

Any comments?
*
no problem for day to day usage. nothing's wrong with that since you already using it.

I feel like upgrading my Casing and Power supply from my bitfenix shinobi and enermax 550w to a carbide 400r+seasonic 620w think its a good idea?

Because currently with my sapphire 7950 OC im getting idle temps of 50C+ almost reaching 60C sometimes and im thinking my casing isnt very good for cooling
*
no point changing the chassis in order to get a few degree Celsius drop in temp. for example, you spend RM300 just to drop 5C, that's RM60 per degree... what for?

btw, your 7950OC temp is quite normal, wait you see my friend's GTX480 - 94C

For PSU, any reason you wan't to change?

Hi, i know its not proper to ask here, but i get no response.
So my question is this
I just bought a new rig comes with a ssd n hdd.
So, i installed OS in my ssd.
But whenever i click in Computer, it only shows Local Disk C, which is my ssd only. it doesnt show my hdd.
So how do i make it appear?
*
maybe the HDD haven't initiate..

you can go to Disk Management to initiate and create a volume for the HDD.

simple instructions - http://www.ehow.com/how_4918155_initialize...hard-drive.html

or you can google / youtube how to initiate a hdd.

Intel has better response in terms of RMA issue.

eyefinity not really that cheap too sweat.gif

better stick to one large monitor than multiple monitors
*
I thought multi-monitor would be cheaper if calculate like this

1x U2711HM around RM1800, single large desktop

3x U2312HM around RM1800, more desktop asset

well, if based on your calculations, yea

but you havent take into account the cost of the GPU required to run smoothly at that reso icon_idea.gif

even the 27" 1440p is more than capable to cause probs for GTX680

as for the 5000+x1080p for 3 monitors, same thing. so better take at least one 1080p where a card can fully show its true colour than struggle
*
I see, for gaming, that really costs a lot on the GPU..

but if for work setup, we just need a cheap eyefinity card like 6450, 6570 already good enough is it?

Should be, my friend and his 5750 working great on his 2 U2312HM atm

Though everytime he games.. One monitor, low reso, low settings
*
understandable, I'm running 2 monitors using i5's HD2500 and I'm really happy with the increase of work efficiency. Though I don't game a lot..

QUOTE(DariusD @ Mar 5 2013, 09:16 PM)
Thank you for noting that and consulting me on that.

Just a few more questions,
1) What's the significance of the processor's speed? I've noticed that AMD processors have much more higher speed, but don't seem to generate the same level of performance like their Intel counterparts. Is there a reason for this?

2) Why do you suggest to use the 3470 instead of the 3570K, since the 3570K is much more quicker compared to the 3470 (based on the Ghz speed)?

3) I've noticed that you suggest that I tune down the processor, while tune up the graphics card to something a lot more quicker and faster. Are Graphic cards much more important compared processors when it comes to games?
*
1. Different architecture used by 2 different companies.. the benchmarks and real life performance difference easily differentiate their grounds. Maybe you can read up some articles about the Intel Ivy Bridge and AMD Piledriver

2. 3570K has unlocked multiplier for overclocking however your choice of motherboard is not supporting advanced overclocking that defeats the purpose of getting K labelled processors. Stepping down to 3570, compared with 3470, that extra 0.2GHz won't have much difference in real life performance.

3. Yes, graphics card is the power horse in gaming, instead of CPU, you should get a GPU to increase the frame rate of your games for smooth high quality graphics.

Hi guys, I need recommendation for gaming sound card (PCI) with budget around rm200-300. Should I go for ASUS or Creative?
*
based on my experience on
- Creative x-fi xtrememusic
- Creative x-fi titanium (non-HD)
- Asus xonar u1
- Asus xonar dx

I personally prefer the sound produced by creative cards but dealing with Creative driver is killing me..

while the DX is quite good for that price which is cheaper than the titanium IINM hmm.gif

nevertheless, you do need to have a set of good speaker to fully enjoy the sound magic
