Hi guys.
I'm currently using the Acer M7720 with the HD4870 card that I want to change.

How do I know what cards do I have as a choice to replace my current card?

Any recommendations of cards with a budget of RM300-400?

I can't play high spec in games like GW2 and Planetside 2. Getting 20-30 fps on medium-high in BF3.

300-400 enough?

ASUS and Gigabyte's cards are pricey, you may opt for Leadtek GTX670, which is priced at RM1149 which is close to the HD7950 price range. Also theres not much difference between the two manufacturers besides their clock speed, cooler etc. overall performance are similar

Also, as shown on my previous link, the difference between these two cards are negligible. Also, the GTX670 and HD7950 is a high-end tier card. This means that itll be able to last you maybe 2 years max depending on how long it can last before the next worthy upgrade

A HD7750 or HD7770 should fit your budget. But dont expect a huge change in performance though

Personally, i suggest you opt for the HD7850 at RM600+, which gives you a considerable difference in performance

Hmm I'll try boosting my budget then.

But I don't have to buy a new PSU or fan right since whatever's inside my current Acer is sufficient?

It should be enough, based on what power supply Acer says the M7720 comes with ( 500W / 750W / 1000W ).

Alright! thanks. Question though, should I get the 2GB DDR5 HD7850 or 1GB edition for about RM100 cheaper? 1GB of RAM sounds like alot doh.gif

Actually by current standards, 1GB of VRAM is considered as little considering the amount of texture memory games demand nowadays. laugh.gif.

So 2GB it is then? Just because it's an OC edition doesn't mean it will be incompatible with my motherboard and PSU right? (as long as I don't OC la hahahha)

It will be compatible as long as your motherboard has a PCI-E x16 slot and your power supply has enough power. smile.gif
