Hey guys, would like to seek some advices/opinions here. My friend is asking me to suggest a rig to him for work, entertainment and some light gaming. Below are the specs that i have in mind base on Viewnet's price list.
CPU: i5 3470 - RM564 / i3 3220 - RM349 Motherboard: Gigabyte B75M-D3V - RM224 Memory: Kingston DDR3 4GB - RM60 GPU: Sapphire 6850 1GB - RM349 / Sapphire 7770 1GB - RM399 Hardi Disk: Western Digital Blue 1TB - RM214 PSU: Silverstone Strider 500W - RM219 Optical Drive: Liteon - RM60 Casing: Cooler Master range - budget RM150 Monitor: Dell ST2320L - RM469 Input Devices: MS Wireless Desktop - RM85
Total: RM2394 (i5) / RM2179 (i3)
Is this built okay? Here's some of my concerns. (i) Is the i3 3220 sufficient for normal work usage, cause he may be using applications like autocad and photoshop, or the i5 is the way to go? (ii) On GPU, if just for light gaming purposes, should I just stick with the old generation 6850 or the newer 7770? Based on benchmarks the 6850 is generally better than the 7770 and the price is lower as well. Is the 6850 a good choice here? (iii) Is there any cheaper PSU recommendations based on Viewnet's price list with relative good performance?
Would like to keep the price as low as possible as well, if possible within RM2.4k. Comments/advices are appreciated. Thanks.

QUOTE(Hilmax @ Dec 15 2012, 10:18 AM) Then you can take i5 3470 RM570+- Added on December 15, 2012, 10:23 amCan replace several part; mobo MSI B75MA-P45 RM229 (more RAM slot), PSU fsp hexa 500w RM150, Monitor LG IPS224T RM419. i5 should handle future work as well. Thanks for the suggestions, msi should be the better choice. On the psu, is it available in viewnet? Didn't saw it in the price list.

QUOTE(Clem1982 @ Dec 15 2012, 11:34 AM) I can confirm in Viewnet, as at 14 Dec 2012 got lotsa stock for the FSP Hexa 500W, still priced at Rm149 That's cool, thanks guys. One thing, any comments on the graphics card? Is it okay to go with the 6850?

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Dec 15 2012, 09:13 PM) No need bundle with PSU. I can buy the card alone @RM399. Saw it on lingloong's facebook comment. Btw, 6870 is a very old powerful card, will it last another 2 years ? Afaird later no driver update given. Saw it's selling for RM399 at c-zone as well. Most likely will go for it as it's still quite a powerful card and can run most games well. Thanks guys.

Hey guys, i'm currently planning to build a mini-itx pc for work and daily usage. It'll be used mostly to run office applications, some cad applications and of course normal web surfing and media playing.
Opting to go for integrated graphics as I'm looking to build something small. However, currently i'm contemplating whether to go for the i5-3570k or i5-3470. I believe the processing power of both will be sufficient for my usage but I'm not too sure whether should i go for the HD4000 (i5-3570k) or the HD2500 (i5-3470) will be good enough.
Appreciate your advice. Thanks.

QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Feb 21 2013, 10:07 PM) Need your budget, with or without monitor. ITX build will be slightly expensive than mATX. CAD applications mostly on 2D or 3D? If only 2D, i3 3225 should be ok. Any reason to go for small form factor o.o? Just want to try to go for something small, lol. Most of the time will only be dealing with 2D, but sometimes will involve 3D as well, though not that often. Saw the i3-3225 also comes with HD4000, but not sure whether to get it, didn't came across it from the price lists. Any idea where to get it? I've more or less decided on the remaining parts, just left the processor that i'm still not sure yet. Thanks. This post has been edited by @udio_jr: Feb 21 2013, 10:50 PM
