Hi all! smile.gif

Hoping to ask some of the more veteran people in here, I'm looking to replace the case fans in my CM 690 III and I'm looking for 140mm fans. Maybe around 3 pieces. Criteria I'm looking for are:

1) A good cfm/noise ratio, (I know more cfm = more noise so I'm looking something that has a good combo)
2) PWM fans preferred
3) Non-led black fans preferred
4) I have a budget of roughly RM50 per piece
5) And hopefully something with a nice build qualiy

I've been google-ing here and there. And I found some that interests me, but there are some that I can't find in lelong such as the cougar vortex 140mm fan. Or do you guys have any other suggestions?

I'm very open to suggestions

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

140mm PWM fans is pretty hard to find... I use the standard CM 120 fans.... it's better though not much airflow, but it's quiet.

I also have Jeftlo 120mm fan as my exhaust... i remove the leds and it's non-led now...non-led jetflo is kinda hard or rare. most shop that sells Jetflo often carries white, blue and red leds ver.

My temps are at average 35 - 36c on idle at normal room temperature... and at 26 - 28c under air conditioned room. rclxms.gif

Below pics is the 2 standard fan on top, jetflo 120 (white) removed leds, transparent blade quite nice actually... and then one 120 on the hdd... and 200mm on the front. brows.gif

Thanks for the suggestion! I've had a look at the CM JetFlo's and have taken interest to it, but I'm really keen on getting 140mm fans. One main reason that I'm opting for 140mm is as I have read, bigger fan=high cfm at lower spin rates. And I'm preffering PWM and preferably not going for fan controllers so I can just change it using software and because I'm just plain lazy(and most of all afraid that I forget) to go change the fan speeds during an insta-go-play-game-heavily-for-long-hours session. lol xD

You got the CM690 III thumbs up bro! Kita geng! ;D

And also in your second pic, I saw a cable running through the side of your HDD bracket, with some sort of resistor? perhaps. May I know what it is? tongue.gif
*
LOL... that's not a resistor... it's led.. the white thingy you see is actually a led-controller.... though not really using it.... lowering or dimming the lights actually made the fans spin slower.... not sure why and how... when i set it to maximum brightness, fans spin normally.

LOL me so noob >.<
*
it's okay bro... Anyway, you have that many Cha_fan header? mine got 2 chassis fan header... usually, i put my exhaust on pwm (cha_fan1)

You need to have at least 2 for the top fans... and as for the third fan? O.o

Luckily my mobo got 5 (1cpu+1opt+3sysfan) headers biggrin.gif
Gonna go for a nepton 240m soon, so that leaves me with 3 left. And unluckily my exhaust fan suddenly died today (as if it knew I was looking around for a new fan) T.T
*
That's a lot of fan headers! thumbup.gif nice..... drool.gif

Wait.. new case fan died? blink.gif that's fast... or it's your old case fan?

How noisy is jetflo120 compare to say noctua industrial ppc 120 2k one? I'm thinking of getting either one of those for my megahalems.
*
Hi, Oyaji... That Jetflo is silent when you set it to 1,200 rpm. or attach the adapter included so when you first start your pc, your jetflo wouldn't spin at it's max speed during boot.
It's a nice fan.

last time I saw one selling at All IT hypermarket at lowyat. they have a bunch of deepcools there.
Haven't tried sickleflow X. Should be fine since it used a better bearing compared to the previous one.
*

Be warned, it spins very fast and move a lot of air. and if you put as exhaust fan and there's filter , like at the top or the front, it will create a turbine sound.

Really? guess I'll stick with my turbinemaster then.

OTOH I'm going to see if my newly acquired corsair AF 140 & AF 120 performed as it should be.
*
I bought two as from review, it says ' quiet ', and ' LDB ' Bearings, and i think, wow, shouldn't it last very long? and i bought it.

When i installed it at the top of my 690 III, wow... loud.... as it spins 2000 RPM all time. I remove the filter, and the noise lowered a little, so i changed back to CM Standard Case Fan 12cm.

Are the fans in the master case 5 good?

Which fans should i swap it with, like 140mm with 3 pin?

I am using all 3 as the front intake and my existing jetflo 120 on the back ( for the fancy look ) hehe

There are always those corsairs af 140 LEDs one. Doubt anybody wants to sell their jetflo 140mm if any.

If u are looking for uniformity, change all to jetlfos laugh.gif
*
Yea... i like them too, but since the front can accommodate 140mm, normally i would use the biggest possible . And since the 140mm is the same as 120mm in terms of blade design, frame, and the bearing, they would last much better.

Currently using the stock fans 140mm ... hehe

i using jetflo 120 for the rear.

my case is Maker 5, changed from 690 III today.

Oh, so the mastercase got 2 140mm fans already. I think it is best to keep those 2 at front. For vertical position should last long time like the megaflow.

maybe can try WTB at garage sales? who knows u might get what u want.
*
I guess i will stick to the stock fans for now, i mounted 3x 140mm in the front. used the old jetflo 120 from my old case and monitor it's temp.
