I was once given a tour of an Insurance tele-marketing and it was an interesting experience.

Basically, you are confined to a desk with a ear-phone system. You must place your HP, PDA, Blackberry in a locker and you can only check your gadgets during toilet break.

Toilet break was like 10-minutest every 2-hours.

Each time a sale is made, the Rep will announce it and those coliqs who are not engaged on the call will stand to applaud.

Tele-sales requires discipline and able to work under close scrunchy but the rewards are good. Immediately, how many sales you made are on the white-board and if everyone around you have closed the sale and you have not, it gives you even more pressure.

Definitely not for everyone.

it depends on luck. If you call me to sell Unifi, you will never able to close the Sale cos I don't need it. Like wise, I already have Streamyx but I got my current Streamyx package via telemarketing.

So, the trick of the game is volume. The more you call, the higher chances of success you have. But you must be able to take rejection, scolding, cursing without ever sounding angry or losing your temper.

Same with me, the different is I’m selling seminar seat and courses for company and government agencies. Depends on the package you agreed during job placement, you commission will be based on
1: Close the deal minimum 7person (sale), you get RM1000. Subsequent person will receive RM100++ and the sky is you limit.
2: Either you will receive 8% or 10% for every sales you close, minimum 10 person.
Work there for 3month only, I’m such a lousy seller. Huhu

Agreed, it is all about volume. Even you have to bluff all the way to the heaven until your potential buyer says yes.

actually it depends on the company that you joined.
some of the company will provide the commision and some isnt.

About the workload, all you do is made calls based on customer
database given. U need to promote the product and make sure the
description is 100% accurate or else later on the customer
will call you back to give the "F" word (not all customer like this).

If you are pursue for the commision, you can "around the bush"
a lil bit.
