Got a notice when I switched on Kodi that it has an upgraded version of 17.2 that fixes a malicious bug. Do I need to download the latest Kodi?

go to playstore, find kodi, install.

it will overwrite existing 17.1.

I've been trying to search subtitles online with the mxplayer but whenever I click the search button, the option is greyed out. How do I get around this? Movies are from the movie HD app and I'm using the max player to watch . Thanks

nicety, he is referring to movie HD.
i hv not used it and some others for a long time partly becos there are no subs.
these apps use MX player only, can't select another; others can use VLC but i do not know if subs are obtainable.
moviehd is just one of them.

try others, e.g. popcorntime, terrarium - these use MX player too, yet can get subs.
becos the app provides the option.
some also allow the use of native himedia player, which is even better for video quality, can get subs via native player.

Ok thanks. Unfortunately, movie hd is the only one that has a good selection of foreign movies compared to popcorn and even Kodi. I've tried popcorn with mx player but still the search option for subtitles is greyed out. Finally had to do the old school way of searching and downloading the subtitles, then putting it into the subtitles folder . Works but just tedious.

by "foreign", u mean non-english? if so, that's true.

subs... for popcoon, u can go to preferences, set default player to kodi to get subs online like using kodi.
u can also set to himediaplayer, then when playing video, press menu on remote, select download subs, online.
the trouble here is the file name does not show up, so u need to key in the title manually, find right one by trial and error.

at this time when kodi is getting hammered, many things there are not working well.

the best vod eng movie/tv shows app for me currently is terrarium, subs available.

where to find the apk... already post earlier.

Yes, non-English movies.. I didn't know can use Kodi player for popcorn. Will try that. Kodi is quite a pain to use now with a lot of things down. So have not been using it much.
Thanks for the link, managed to get it already. Will try it out later tonight.
