Hi Guys, I must say this is hell of a community!!

I am not from Malaysia, but I was there a few months back. This himedia actually got my attention, and I was soon convinced to purchase this device.

lelong was recommended to me to find dealers for this device.., and there I found a re-seller. When I called him, he told me that he was from Melaka, and since I had to leave Malaysia soon, he was kind enough to refer me to a KL based re-seller of Himedia (he did not know him, but saw his posts in similar forums.)

First impression, nice folks selling himedia, and supporting each other.

So I purchased this himedia q5ii emmc box from Digital Mall.

And the next day it was not turning on, and I had my flight the same day. So in hurry I went back to the mall, and told the dealer my story, since he did not have the replacement unit, he replaced my hi-media q5ii with q10ii (I had to pay the difference.)

And since the past two-three months, I have been using and following the forum of this nice guy nicety!!

I registered on this forum, just to say and support Nicety, I have learned alot from this forum, especially Nicety recommendations.

I am facing one problem, i.e. I have been trying to play 1080p videos play via mashup in xbmc, and they always play on 720p resolution.

Device: Q10ii emmc
Firmware: 1.0.5
Display set on Himedia for TV: 1080p 60Hz
Xbmc:12.2 (downloaded from xbmc.org)
Mxplayer also installed.

Nicety, I tried following the posted on page 44, and downloaded playcorefactory.xml and placed in userdata. And now, 1080p videos don't even play at all.

Earlier they used to play, but in 720p resolution.

Anyhelp would be really appreciated.

Keep up the Excellent work guys!!

ciao!

Hey Nicety, Thanks for the prompt reply!

Me, not being a local in MY had two challenges, 1) I did not have a bank account to do proper online shopping, and 2) Cash-On-Delivery was present on Lazada and some suppliers on Lelong, that is why I was lurking there, as I had no other choice, other than doing COD in KL area.

Please, take some time and post in your profile on those sites, as I did not find you there sad.gif And your presence on such forums could be very beneficial for people like me.

Moreover, you do make sense, no point of streaming 1080p Videos.

Although I have Q10ii, with HDD Dock, I don't have that Disk. eRgh

Instead I have a USB3.0 2TB disk, which I have plugged in the Q10ii to play movies from.
I don't know how to create this NAS to plug this USB in my workstation, and play movies on Q10ii directly.

Anyways, I must say that the performance of Himedia player is pretty okay, and I hardly see any difference between Himedia Player and mxplayer performance. playing 1080p movies.

But the hassle is there to move around mediacenters. I think I do like XBMC, and will somehow one fine day learn to play 1080p from there aswell, instead of playing movies from Himedia Player.

One feedback to folks out there, I tried using Jabra USB speaker/mic device in Q10ii to be used with my skype, and it does not work. Maybe I am missing something, but so far it did nto work.

I will hang around just to learn a few things, and maybe try to share my experiences with the people joining in this community.

Thanks again!!

Thank you bro, unfortunately most of the buyers still prefer to buy from the shop :-(

if you download from xbmc.org, it only support 720p resolution. Anyhow playing online 1080p movies does not really made sense because you will not get the real 1080p effect over online streaming. A real 1080p movies streaming required constant 40 Mbit/s of network throughput. 1080p movies should stream via local HDD or LAN network.

playcorefactory.xml setting is merely to switch from XBMC player to external Player. It will not help to play 1080p movies.

hey thanks for the heads up, will give it a try, once I actually fill up my 2TB attached to Q10ii.

Btw, are you facing the random XBMC crash issue?
It is kind of weird, sometimes it happens, and sometimes it works good..

Anyone knows how to fix it?

Cheers

I tried sharing the movies the way you suggested and it worked!! Thanks nicety.

my wireless is not good enough I guess, cuz the 1080p movie was sluggish.

I think, I need to bring the himedia and laptop both on ASUS router, instead of the default DSL router. LAN is not an option....

Thanks again for the guidance!!

I will try if clearing cache helps, although I tried it before, and did not help that very much..
But worth a shot trying it again..

Full HD 1080p movies required 40Mbps bitrate to stream.

A good 802.11n wifi router should be sufficient. But there are many low end wifi router unable to meet that. You can verify by using Lan cable for both PC and Android box.

Hi:

Steps I performed so far, to get rid of the xbmc crash problem.

I uninstalled 12.2
Installed stable 13.0 = Everything was crashing.
Installed 12.3, so far the issue is okay, i.e. less crashing than 12.2.

Cheers.

hey nicety & anyone else who faced this issue..

Need your help. Got myself a Samsung 65" LED Smart TV, when I connect my q10ii with HDMI, it says the resolution not supported message on the LED TV. Please change the resolution on external device.

Any help?

First of you you need to match the supported resolution for your TV and Q10II. Could you please share what is your Q10II resolution setting and your Samsung TV support resolution.

How can I check the resolution in Q10ii?

In TV, there's no option to check/change the resolution..

Cheers.
