Is anyone else here facing lag issues when streaming HD movies online in XBMC? I've tired everything I can, even resetting my Q5 to the bare minimum without any apps. When streaming SD movies, there is no issue however HD 720/1080 lags terribly. I doubt its my network as I have XBMC installed on my PC and it plays HD movies flawlessly. Even on my mobile phone connected to wifi streaming HD movies online has no issues.
Hope someone can share any solution? Or is it hardware related? BTW im streaming using Mashup HD Movies link on my Q5 II This post has been edited by josenigel: Feb 25 2014, 12:58 PM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 28 2014, 03:06 PM) bro, thanks to your prompting, i have done that, how to article: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW-T...the_video_cache from the article, only one of the ways mentioned will work for frodo 12.x. the other ways are for frodo 13.x. my results for q5ii non emmc wired and emmc wireless lan, after a couple of days testing: .. 720 aac2.0/mp3 - very good, no problems .. 720 dd5.1 - good, usually ok .. 720 dts5.1 - not good, jerky .. 1080 any audio - no good, very jerky overall, i am quite satisfied with the improvement. less crashing also. i just watched frozen 2013, 720 aac 2.0 - all smooth: xbmc->istream->search->frozen 2103->movreel hd there has been a lot of comment on himedia's performance with xbmc. i agree we all hope the new firmware or xbmc gotham will allow 720p/dts and 1080p to stream nicely. meanwhile, i must also say himedia's hitv (and mangotv i guess) are very good for chinese stuff - sd and hd. this part, i do not know if other androidtv boxes offer equivalent or better. but for sure xbmc is helpless here - has some similar links like pptv, pps, vqq but they don't work at all. this is encouraging for me lol. thx for the info |

QUOTE(nicety @ Feb 28 2014, 07:51 PM) Bro, this setting has been added in Q5II FAQ since some time ago and posted in this thread. to be honest bro, i did try the file previously before i reset the player and it made no difference. however after resetting and removing all the unwanted apps, i tried it again hoping it will work like it did for the other guy. unfortunately it didn't. same issue, online movie streaming using XBMC for all HD movies lag. I have even connected it directly to my router without any switch and same thing.Pls subscribe to this thread, we always keep customers update when we found any good xBMC setting. I have given up watching HD movies on my Q5, I'll probably just stick to Netflix and watch SD movies instead in XBMC |
