Got my Q5 from nicety. Indeed a very nice guy smile.gif and helpful too!

Still playing around with the device. First time on an Android.
Any way to add more channel? I can see now in Live TV with channels from China.

I wish I could ditch my Astro too.

Yep, will go through the entire thread. However, I can't seem to launch XBMC. It auto closes itself. Will try to re-install using the steps shared in previous post. smile.gif

Hello bro,

Your XBMC has been preinstalled and tested. Maybe just restart the box first before reinstall. As mentioned by Natzakaria, pls down load none neon version if reinstall.

Hi,

It's working now. smile.gif

Anyway, is it normal that it can't play TVB Jade channel on LiveTV? It always jump to the next channel. It was updated to the latest version and rebooted the device.

Hi! It's me again. I have a question.

When I use LiveTV, it seems to lag a lot but watching from PPS and PPTV seems fine. Anyway to fix it?

No problem, pls feel free to ask.

PPS is using different technology then live TV. PPS using Peer 2 Peer technology where you could noticed the picture quality and performance is better because you can get the content not just from the content server but also from the peer that running PPS. Live TV using Client Server streaming where the single server supply the content to all the clients which cause the lagging. But not live TV channels are equally lagging, some better and some worst it depend on content server. This is not Q5 problem but the technology use by the streaming server. You cannot fix this from the Q5, but you can watch live TV via different apps like PPTV. PPTV stream the live channel and broadcast again via PPTV infrastructure.

I had problem playing video on all video apps (e.g. PPS, PPTV, from browsers). There was audio playback but screen is blank. It's been a while since the last use it and nothing was changed on the system. It was working when I first received it several months ago.

What I Did:
- Reinstalled PPS.tv and PPTV (not working - playback with audio but no video)
- Installed alternate browser (not working - playback with audio but no video)
- Factory reset **v1.1.4**(not working - playback with audio but no video)

Can't find any info from the Internet and out of idea, I've consulted nicety tongue.gif and he suggested to do a firmware rollback from v1.0.4 --> v1.1.1 --> v1.1.2 --> v1.1.4 and do a test video playback from the apps and browser.

The video playback is back to normal on each version. Now my Q5 is on version 1.1.4

Thanks, nicety! notworthy.gif

Hi nicety!

I have been using wifi all along and decided to plug in Ethernet but I can't seem to make it connected. Other devices connected to the source seems fine.

When I used DHCP, it shows connection failed. If I choose Static which I configured the static IP and gateway of my network, it shows connected but not able to browse internet.

Any idea?

I presumed you are using flat network and no routing in your house network. The WIFI AP is the Switch and also Internet router.

If the above assumption is correct then the problem seems like physical layer of the network, do you have any alternative LAN switches to verify this?

If you use static ip, you can try to traceroute/ping from your PC to Q5.

Hmm.. can't quite get it..

The TV Box is connected directly to my Unifi router. I've even tried a factory reset but still can't work.

Oh, I saw one of ur post about firmware 1.1.5 for Q5. Do u have a copy? I can't get it online.
