Hi Guys, was really glad to see this Himedia forum. Wanted to discuss with you guys about my experience with Himedia Q5 II.
I live in US and got my Himedia Q5 II through one of my friends who lives in Beijing and was coming to US. There are some serious flaws with this model. I sent Himedia my list of issues and 5-6 reminders but they never responded.
1. HiControl (app on cell phone to control the device) doesn’t work. I have tried it on two android phones (Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC inspire) and it didn’t work on any of these two.
2. Miracast doesn’t work. They claim that it would work. Tried with Samsung Galaxy S4 and the device doesn’t detect the Screen Mirroring device (HiMedia Q5 II)
3. There is no Google Play Store on this. This is not a high severity issue and I can live without it but 1 and 2 are really important.
Sorry for the late response bro, actually I am waiting if any guys could help to answer your questions.
Unfortunately, Q5II not yet available here and I have no chance to test your problem. However, maybe I could help you answer question (1) if the HiControl works similar to Q5. First of all, please check your Android Phone IP address and Q5II IP address, ensure both running in the same subnet. If you confirm both are in the same subnet then turn of your Android Phone 3G, left only WIFI and try again. Pls let me know your result.
For Google Play Store, it works in Q5 therefore I pretty sure it works in Q5II as well, unfortunately I do not have Q5II to help you to test.
Please allow me to share the below with other forumer : 1). Please do not hurry to buy Q5II until Himedia confirm the release to oversea market. Himedia release thousands of test units in China market, you may bought test unit instead of final release units.
2). If you plan to buy Q5II, please kindly buy from the local reseller that could support you directly.
