Nicety, thanks. Managed to upgrade it already. What are the changes in this version?

Below are the 109 firmware fixes for dual core :
1.Improve audio quality
2.improve some video file lagging
3.Ugrade MG launcher user interface

I just updated q5ii emmc to 109:

... MG launcher now is the same as q16 107.
... No more UI launcher.
... I tried make nova and apex launcher as default, failed.... is there a way?
... Next best thing is to use fast key to go to nova or apex.
... Another launcher is necessary because some apps will not appear in mg launcher apps.
... Some apps probably not compatible with 107 get erased, e.g. hiTV, pptv, so, it is good to keep backup apks or go to nicety sky drive to get them again.

Overall, ok, can do. This android used so much after 1.5 yrs still very good.

1). Himedia will continue develop MG launcher firmware for Q5II/Q6II/Q10II EMMC and none EMMC.
2). Simple UI launcher firmware stop development since 107.
3). The alternative is using the Auto Start to launch APEX/NOVA, goto Application select APEX/NOVA icon, click MENU button from Himedia Remote Controller, select "Default Start". The next reboot will start the APEX/NOVA automatically.
4). Auto start as point #3 will be better alternative.
5). Yes, you are right. Some apps are hidden in the Application. For example Miracast.
6). HITV and LiveTV are removed from the firmware due to some reason. Just installed both from APK files in the Skydrive.

this is a simple yet powerful apk.

hundreds of live tv stations from many countries - sports, news, music, movies, tv shows, etc.

almost all sd, a bit off color and some with wrong aspect ratios. but... just about all of them work, stable.

if looking for skypsorts 1-5 and the like, they are all there.

Hi, I recently purchased himedia q5ii TV box and I'm a complete newbie at updating/getting apps installed. I really want to install popcorn time on my TV box and also maybe upgrade the firmware. I was wondering if there was a guide for doing any of this stuff. Thanks

Q5II Dual Core Non-EMMC 1.0.9 is about 40MB only, is that correct?

Yes, just follow the document "Firmware Upgrade Step by Step Guide.pdf" in my skydrive. The firmware is in the drive as well.

Yes, is confirmed correct. Just tested last week end.

However, please ensure your current version is 108 and goto Setting -> upgrade.
