Sorry bro, Himedia do not provide content service as,replicating Astro channels is illegal.

Unfortunately Astro do not sell IPTV service for Android box, you only could buy from some IPTV seller on the net.

Android, player is not just play live tv but stream movies and dramas from the content repository. Android player is,different from traditional TV broadcasting where you have to follow strictly the TV programme. Internet TV allow you to choose the movies and, dramas at your convenient time.

Depend on the apps, if you use Chinese streaming apps you could watch China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korean dramas. If you use western apps then the, content are, mainly from,Europe or,US.

Bro, to modify the Kernel you need to root your Android box. We strongly not recommend to root your box unless you are technically sound and understanf the impact after rooting.

I have shared in this thread few times that please do not use 3rd party VPN apk which required to modify your kernel. Please use the Android native VPN either PPTP or L2TP from your Setting -> More -> VPN.

It's actually not to say modify. Other android box like XiaoMi TV box has the TUN.ko kernel and no need to root the TV box to install the VPN apk. Himedia Q5ii does not have the kernel. I had searched online, even after rooting Q5ii, there's no supported TUN.ko kernel can be installed. That makes me disappointed.

The main reason I wanna install those VPN apk is because China blocked overseas IP. Apps like 优酷、土豆、搜狐 need to use China VPN only can stream smoothly in Malaysia.

Here are the example of China VPN I want to install:
http://www.wangqu.cc
Price are quite affordable and stable. I had used this VPN apk on XiaoMi TV box before.

Wangqu could be use in Q16 quad core without rooting but not Q5II. Q5II need to root it before install WangQu.

If you use native VPN then you have no such issue to worry. WangQu do support pptp and L2tp, pls contact Wangqu person in charge if you need help about native VPN.

hi nicety

I hope you can help me even though I did not buy a set from you. As you mentioned we share information.

I have a Himedia Q3. My current problem is that sometimes I cannot download movies using Popcorn as the system has insufficient space.

I have managed to mount an external drive and move the movies to that drive quite often. This is not an issue.

The main problem is that I am unable to download movies that are 4Gb or more in size.

I have tried changing the setting in Popcorn but it would not change into another drive other than SD 0.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

Many thanks.

Bro Q3 quad core only has 8GB flash minus the OS and App partition, left only 4GB free space. That is the, reason you're unable to download movies 4GB and above.

This is the reason we advise our customer to buy Q16 instead.

Mean I just need to root Q5ii to install the VPN apk? Are you sure as easy as this? As I know after rooting, TUN.ko kernel need to be installed. But so far there is no kernel can support the Q5ii.

You need to plug in external Pen drive and try to change the cache path.

Just goto popcorn time setting, click the cache path. Then it prompt you for the path.
