Nicety,
I found Himedia impressive and amazed by ur response to the customers.
Well, I am looking for one android box tat is capable of playing all medias (especially RMVB and MKV). I guess this is a good buy.
My question:
1. Does it come with the IR controller / airmouse (as shown in the video)
2. HOw do we input txt (example in youtube) to search ?
3. Can we take up some services offered by someone else (example AXXXX channels) with some subscription, will it affect the setting? or it is just purely an apk tat is being installed on a android device.

Do you only accept online purchase or any other option?

thank you.

Thank you bro, we are not just selling products but share our experience with customers to ensure full utilization of the products.

No doubt, Himedia is capable to play all the common media files since Himedia business start from media player.

1). It comes with IR remote control, Himedia do not bundle or sell air mouse.

2). Input text is same as your android phone, when you mouse click any text field, the virtual keyboard appear on the screen, just key in the text from virtual keyboard.

3). It is just APK file from the providers.

We are selling online only, such that we could focus on customers support and flexible support time as well.

Sure, if you have the APK file, just click and install. The GooglePlay is included, it is same as your Android Phone, download the apps from GooglePlay and install.

I tried to upgrade but have a few questions:-

1. How do I know if I have EMMC version of Q5II or non-EMMC version? Here's my setting: Model number: Q5IIEN.1103, Build number: HMD-1.0.5 2014-01-23.134950

2. Can I upgrade from version 1.05 to 1.07?

From the info you given, you model is none EMMC, just follow my Skydrive instruction for none emmc and direct upgrade to 107. Remember to apply the googlepatch after upgrade as per instruction given in Skydrive.

for unifi vip5/10 users, just to share...

i watch mangotv and hitv quite a bit besides xbmc.
i used to find many shows in mangotv lagging and couldn't get hitv hd stuff smoothly consistently even on ethernet.
recently i changed from orig dlink router to this asus rt n12hp router (rm199):
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2764213/+100

result has been excellent. ethernet and wifi both improve a lot, very pleased.
on ethernet, i can get most stuff on mangtov smoothly, incl hd stuff.
on hitv, u can select from 3 options: "clear", "high", "super" definition. i can now get them in "super hd" (=1080, i think) smoothly. can see from the yellow buffer bar it is good. nice!
on wifi, results quite close to that on ethernet.

while we discuss and agonize a lot over chipsets, firmwares, app versions, dns, proxies, nominal broadband speed, etc., don't overlook this router issue. i am convinced the orig unifi router is very poor. good news is a rm200 replacement router giving stronger and more stable signal connection will change all that to deliver much superior results.

they r sold in many places.

u can buy at the stores like ALL IT and similar.
it is unifi ready, get shop to preset as much as possible for u alto it is simple to diy too.
u will need yr unifi id and the router password (not the wifi one, need to call unifi to get it).
warranty 3 yrs, warranty claim, take it back to the store.

can also buy online, incl here in lyn, just search.
this way, warranty need to send to asus center in wisma sps, imbi.

asus has many models; this rt 12 is popular for 2 storey houses.
comes in rt n12hp and rt n12d1; the hp cost more due to the better twin antennae.
many other models that cost more, for 3 storeys, dual band for congested wifi areas like in high density condos, etc.

other detailed questions, best to read and ask in this section:

Hi Nicety-

I received the Q5ii and been testing it for 2 weeks now, mainly for Youtube and Movies from NAS. But last long weekend, i tested some streaming apps that you preloaded for me.

1st comment, most of the apps are outdated and require to update (not an issue though).
2nd, is most of the online streaming has lagging and jerking issue from the pre-loaded apps. So far only PPS i found the best and smooth.

I dont have fiber internet at home, i still using ADSL due to my area was not cover by TM and dont have Fiber cable install. My service provider is Maxis and my package is 8mbps ADSL. Overall speed i do speedtest can get 5-6mbps download and 1mbps upload.

FYI, i worry WiFi cant give me a good speed. so i get a pair of 500mbps TPLink Powerline to use LAN cable to connect the Q5ii with my router.

I had followed your email starter guide to set the DNS in case the Service Providers throttle my internet streaming. But i got no luck to resolve the lagging and jerking issue from HiTV and LiveTV. So i wondering the DNS you provide is workable for Maxis or it's for TM only?

Can you please give me some advice and guidance for the issue i having?

thank you.

all hitv versions work the same.
when a show in play, press ok on remote (or left click on mouse).
a bar will show at the bottom.
it will display what definition u r on - in chinese, e.g. "clear"
use arrow down on remote or mouse, click on that, it will show "high" and "super" as well for you to choose, if u want to change.
just press ok or click on yr choice, it will change. will return to same spot of the show.
once it is set, it will stay like that for all hitv shows, until u change it again.
not all shows offer these 3 options, some offer 2, some only 1.

which hitv sites do you use?
i find pptv and vqq best - with "super", the video is excellent.
with youku, "super" is not as good for same show. probably some difference in upscaling tech.

note: if set on high or super, and the show starts to lag, u may need to revert to clear. how good is the streaming can be seen when you activate the bottom bar, see if u get a good yellow buffer to the right of the marker after a few seconds when the show is in play. if yellow buffer good, sure no lag, very smooth.

mangotv works differently. on the page where u click to start the episode or show, u can see if it offers "clear" and "high" or just "clear". choose one before starting the show.

I'm sorry for tthe late response, just noticed your questions. Please always feel free to remind me if you did not get my response.

We have pre-installed all the common streaming apps, the online stream very much depend on two common factor which determine the smooth of the movies :
1). The content server - most of the content server either located in China(chines movies) or US (English movies). When too many users access to the same server the server will be congested which cause the movies unable to stream smoothly. This is very much depend on the content provider which explain why some apps more smooth than other apps.

2). International internet bandwidth is too small and unable ti stream the huge movies content. When you perform speedtest, please do not choose TM or Maxis server, please choose oversea server then you could measure the international bandwidth.
A good streaming apps like XBMC, Youtube and CloudTV allow the buffer setting when there is internet bandwidth bottleneck the apps will buffer first before play back. Further explanation could refer to the below thread.
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3115619&hl=

Although some of the apps are lagging, but we still pre-installed for you because there is regular update and upgrade by the content providers to improve the situation.
P/S : Free stuff require some effort to test and search. There is no service level guaranty. Please follow the getting started email which shared which apps working for Hong Kong Dramas, US dramas and sports. Pls PM me what movies you expected, we could give you more hints.

For the HITV, please switch the content server from Hong Kong or other region. Forgot about default LiveTV, there are 2 live TV apps in my Skydrive, please try it.

Please feel free to PM or whatsapp me if you have further question. You could find my phone number in the Poslaju receipt.

Dear Customers, if you subscribed to Netflix, please follow the below step to upgrade your Netflix to Super HD streaming :

1). Pls download the apk file in my Skydrive drive under subfolder "Netflix Super HD".

2). Backup your current Netflix apk file to external Pendrive just in case you would like to fall back.

3). Uninstall your current Netflix and install the Super HD version by click the downloaded APK file.

4). Check your Netflix setting in your Netflix account, set the Data Usage to Auto or High as per below link :
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportO...1&map_seq=55665

Netflix streaming will start with none HD, if your Internet bandwidth is sufficient, it will auto switch to HD or Super HD. As per my testing, mostly you will get HD during day time and night time possible to get Super HD.

P/S : If you are new about Netflix. please to be noted Netflix is paid service. We do not sell Netflix service but you could get it from Lowyat thread.
