My 2002 Waja(M) only done 69k km,Mitsubishi engine,alternator today kong-bearing worn off,bearing housing worn off .So,cannot be repaired.New alternator very expensive, RM700+.So,I settle for one from potong kereta shop that cost me Rm150,labour RM40.

All my previous cars alternator last at least 5 yrs,Proton one tak tahan lama?

I would expect alternator to last longer than that.

One more thing I need advice from the Sifu here.Lately when I cranked the starter in the morning or after the car is left unused for a period of time (may be a few hours)there is some funny noise from the engine like a motor is spinning,this noise will be there for about 3 to 4 seconds (after the engine is fired up),and will disappear after lubricating oil is pumped up to the upper part of the engine.

Any one experience this before?how to fix it?

If you are in KL,try Sun Eng Hup Auto Sdn Bhd in Segambut,tel 03-62500000.Last time I bought the same item from them(used) at RM25.

Jalan Segambut,junction to KTM station,this potong kereta shop is perpendicular to the junction.Maybe you should first call to check availability of stock before going.

My 2002 Waja manual Mitsu engine,mileage 78k km,lately has this problem.In the morning,when the engine is cold,on cranking,the engine will come on but after running for a few seconds,the engine will die off and need to crank again.When the engine fires up for the second time,the problem will go away. This does not happen in the evening even when the engine is cold provided the car has been used in the morning.

I suspected the petrol filter is clogged so I change it,but the problem still persist.Please help and TQ in advance.
