I've used 10W-30, no issues. As long as oil pressure don't drop until the flow cannot be maintained, it's fine.

http://ferrarichat.com/forum/faq.php?faq=haas_articles has info about grade, viscosity, pressure and flow.

How to make sure? Urs LM 10-30?

Added on November 28, 2012, 7:18 pm
Ori? Ori will cost u 150 per side. Proton parts store

Petronas 10W-30, because I didn't bring my own EO and this is service center's default. For LM, i'm using 10W-40 at the moment because I want the cheap price by sharing a carton with my friend

To make sure, you have to install oil pressure gauge

Remember I told you guys that I changed to a custom thermostat? Here are some results:

Readings taken from my daily drive to work. At above average cruising speed, the temperature here shows 81C, while the original thermostat keeps the temperature at 88-91C because whenever the coolant is cooled by moving air, the thermostat shuts the coolant flow.

When I slow down my cruising speed, the temperature can go further down:

This was taken when I went home, it was a rainy cold day. I drove the car at average cruising speed:

The Torque software that I'm using announces that the engine is at operating temperature when coolant temperature is 71C.

I think engine oil are only effective to protect the engine at 70C minimally, I've seen this somewhere before, can't confirm now.

Some Campro turbo do their own modification to original thermostat like cutting slits on it to leak coolant at all time. Some just remove it. The advantage of using proper custom thermostat is there will be no coolant flow when engine is cold, just as intended to warm up the engine ASAP. Disadvantage, cost.

So first batch of custom thermostats from you is RM100 per piece, eh? hmm.gif. What difference will the second batch carry, if any?
*
Yes, RM100 a piece. No difference in plan.

not tat bad la...it filter dust also...
mayb not as good as stock only...
*
Haha, of course not that bad lah. Only those fine dusts can get through, I think should be fine to go in. Finally I use stock filter for the peace of mind and also works better for NGV

Added on December 3, 2012, 7:41 pmbtw, what is the reason for white smoke coming from the exhaust??
*
Black - incomplete combustion. Too rich (?)
Pure white - water vapour. Humid air due to rain (?)
White with blue - engine oil burning. worn piston ring (?)

Usually water vapour is thicker than the blueish smoke. The white smoke should go off after a while, otherwise, might have gasket leak. Coolant entering combustion chamber

For those that is using rear drum brake, the normal handbrake range is 5 to 7 clicks. So if when you pull the handbrake, it is within the range, then three is nothing wrong with your handbrake. However some people will think the lesser they pull for their handbrake, the better their handbrake is which I don't really agree.
*
JPJ/Puspakom rule is 2 clicks.
