The only way for them to improve in order to meet today's standard is to rebuilding the entire game from scraps.
The other MMO have progressed way too far , even the other Korean MMO . Try looking at notorious Blade&Soul and come back into this .
This game is 6 years too late for release , the sequel system and exp grinding is way too old for everything (OR anything ) to happen.




I had my first impression on the game , now that makes me wonder exactly which part of this game is worth that 3.8 GB .
Its all the nostalgia people had for RO 1 , moving onto RO 2 with all these hypes just to find out its disappointing .

The server issue was a mess but since its a close beta and have playtime limit I will skip the details here.


I am running this game on 3770k and 680 Sli , but this game is working very poorly with my PC. (with 64 bit OS )
I turned on the shadow and distance to the max and the game is barely running at 15-25 FPS .


The game also look very uninspiring , the cartoonish spell effect is a big turn off . Every spell just look like a palette swap version of each others.
Building and all the polygons looks jaggy , the background of the scenery looks like its a 10 years old game.
I played a Magician and every spell looked the same for me. Such an awful impression.

The only thing that look decent is the character models and the vast selection from hair style and facial customization that resembles RO 1.

Movement control system is also sluggish . Feel like I am rolling on a random snowball that randomly push you to different directions.


They have also assigned several GM ingame to answer questions.
But I found a gm standing in the middle of the starting poring field , its downright distracting .
Instead of actually helping and answering questions , He transform into Bears walking around as if he is bragging with all the level 50 items he has . Very unprofessional.




Overall , this game is not a WOW clone . While WOW is often considered outdated in graphics but they are still looking much better than this.

p.s. : Not recommended if you are 8 years old or above . If you really like RO, go back to RO 1.

Whichever game that come out now is almost consider as WOW clone because that the trend. Maybe you play too much mmo which you forgotten what the future of mmo.

You need to understand , WOW did not invent the party system or the Looting system as well . Nor even EQ did.

When someone was talking about WOW clone , they often are referring to a large amount of similiarities .
For example SWTOR . Large part of the gameplay , or even the talent system and skill abilities looked/played just the same.

EG : If you play a Discipline Priest in WOW , You will be no stranger to SWTOR and play a Jedi Sage who has very similiar skill sets.



And I disagree with you, there are dozen of MMO out there does not even play like a WOW .
If we are going with your way , then we could pretty much call this game a Guild War 2 clone as well since it has a party and looting system.

Incorrect , while I don't remember or know who is the first that made the rule , but there are many games ( some older ) like Anarchy Online and shadowbane has done that before WOW even existed.

I could just go on and on...Entire game is a failure. What they should make is to change the entire system of the game and make it something similar to "Ragnarok Battle Offline"...

Wholeheartedly agree with you .

Nostalgia aside after all these years I refuse drown myself into this pool of awkwardness , the time for RO is long gone .
