Sifu , another test proven that the best for my 680 is leave it untreated .

the last 3 rows result is tested with "680 + panel + mdma @ -61dBm" vs the top 3 rows with "680 + mdma @ -81dBm" ( I dismantled the panel ) >>  without panel and inferior dBm , my speed improved ~40% rclxub.gif
*
Maybe your panel antenna...
- not facing tower or..
- panel antenna cable got a lot of interference or..
- connector not attached properly

as you can see , with panel attached, the RSSI improved quite significant @ -61dBm , and my last post on 3420's signal strength is about 77% , without panel , my RSSI only -81dBm and signal strength is about 45%
*
If signal strength increase but slow speed, its either:
- Facing another tower or...
- Most likely its panel antenna cable...maybe high interference or low quality cable..

I read the tutorials on how to compile all the needed package together but seems likes the guides are shown in Linux-based OS doh.gif

Right now too lazy to install a Virtual Machine to actually test it out sweat.gif

Backed up all settings before flashing, and then went to the web interface for flashing rclxm9.gif

Congratulations, I have successfully BRICKED my MR3420 v1.2 doh.gif rclxub.gif
Machine gun button failsafe does not work...sys light not even on sweat.gif

Now I have to find a serial cable and some soldering kit to debrick. Will probably do it next month...this month got final exams yawn.gif

image builder seems to be corrupt.. always unexpected end of file whenever i try to uncompress it.. so now
trying from svn..

I tried both from Trunk & AA1, seems just fine. Maybe EOF because the download was stuck and did not finish? I got that EOF message when I wget from the VM in my PC. When download to a remote server, works just fine.

This is the AA1 Image Builder that I've successfully downloaded : http://ssh.st0rage.org/~ibnuasad/OpenWrt-I...ux-i486.tar.bz2

khairilyazit, my router still cannot go to webgui. When turn on the router, all led will light up at once for 1 second but after that, only PWR & LAN# light up. SYS led does not light up. Any ideas to debrick without serial cable? icon_question.gif sweat.gif

did u try setting to static ip 1st?
if can, then u can telnet or ssh to the client..

but since ur sys led didn't lit up.. i'm afraid it may really be bricked..

i read the wiki page.. seems like u need a serial to debrick. cause its a hard brick..

u could try set to static ip and see if the router responds.. if it responds, use telnet or ssh  to login then install luci..
make sure to connect a network to the wan port for internet..

Tried setting to static ip, can't telnet/ssh

Wireless G alone or wireless G+N both option will be fine,

Wireless G alone transmittion rate = 54Mbps

while wireless G+N  transmittion rate = should be 65Mbps

as i am using wireless G+N now with Channel Width 20MHz

Wireless G+N if Channel Width 40MHz , transmittion should be around 130Mbps +/-

only wireless N alone with Channel Width 40MHz = 300 Mbps ( which only can really work in V2 only due to V1, V1.2, V1.3 all have wireless bug issue with Wireless N alone  )

correct me if i am wrong  notworthy.gif
*
Confirmed. G+N 20Mhz = 65Mbps

If use 40Mhz, can't even detect network.

Stock firmware is good for normal user but if you want to use advanced features such as DNSMasq, PrintServer, etc...3rd party firmware is better.

Expensive Router = Advanced stock firmware
Cheap Router = Normal stock firmware

Save money by buying cheap router and flashing 3rd party firmware. But warranty kaput if anything goes wrong sweat.gif
