I assume your setup is like this 3G Modem + TP-Link MR3420 ---> D-Link DIR-615

Am i right?
*
if using as DHCP,.. any wireless router will do a good job,. notworthy.gif

i am using my V1 as DHCP while V2 dialing the modem,.

no matter V1 with STock tplink firmware or with openwrt firmware in DHCP mode,

it really make no different,. hmm.gif

My Asus rt-n13U seems having issues with Repeater mode...
I bet it is a firmware issue as my Unifi setup, using D-Link DIR-825 running DD-WRT and act as Client Bridge, no such issue like auto DC
*
u might want to try other version firmware ,. hmm.gif

2 question:

1. Can stock firmare 3420 set to UMTS 2100 only?
2. Can set auto ping at stock firmware?
my problem using openWRt + VPN + ZTEm190 = after a few hours, sometime a few minute always disconnect, and take time to reconnect. thing to back to stock firmware ...
*
answer for both 1& 2, stock firmware cannot do

for 1 , u need to plug it in your computer and use MDMA V1.0.0.31 to set UMTS 2100

If you guys have the cash to splash and intends to upgrade to Fibre in the very near future, buy this

[attachmentid=3213740]

no need to flash wat ever FW, its factory FW that support Dual USB modem and Load Balancing too drool.gif

damage < rm500  sad.gif
*
Connectify Dispatch can do a better job to load balance & combine all your internet together than that router alone, and also much more user friendly brows.gif

Why ping so bad  shakehead.gif  hmm.gif

Usually local ping <150ms and international ping <350ms

I'd rather buy cheapo router, then flash Open/DD-WRT  laugh.gif ...but then Warranty gone  ph34r.gif

You bought Connectify Dispatch?  drool.gif  drool.gif  drool.gif

wanted to ask my friend to purchase it for me, since he did sign up the kickstarter,..

the team really put in effort, and i test my friend dispatch, super user friendly,

can combine, wifi + Lan + USB port all in, then load balance,. dont have to set anything,

super easy and user friendly, no more laggyness like old connectify too

planning to purchase one license for myself,. icon_idea.gif

dont forget that u are still using the same USB modem even though using it with Superb Router,

and Maxis do load balance & Soft Cap on your speed

so spending and buying expensive router wont really get you any higher speed than your current,..

unless u are using fibre, then that would be another whole new story,..

otherwise for 3G/4G,.. Tp Link 3G /4G router would be enough,.

Honestly speaking

Changing a router won't make a difference on your speed unless you using cap ayam router.

But a better router will improve the stability which thanks to TP-LINK unstable stock firmware which can be solved through OpenWRT.

A better router is for those who need those extra load balance features and stability which I know the MR3420 is never able to be a hotspot + DHCP router (tried one day 20-30 users and you can see WiFi problem) nod.gif

But changing to a better modem or adding an antenna would make significant difference if installed properly. tongue.gif
*
totally spot on notworthy.gif

changing to best modem or adding 1~2 antenna will make major speed increase

compare to using same usb modem with better router

Means your modem hate the antenna which do happen in certain case

Eg E367 never works well with panel antenna.

Maxis E372 known to having issue, ddr3 kena before but another user no kena.

or just purely luck differs, wireless RF sometime is really unpredictable.
*
yeah thank god my Maxis set handicap E372 love my both tplink MR3420 V1 & V2 + panel,.

guess purely on luck ? hmm.gif
