since i use V1 and V2 both router,

V2 is using as dialing modem/phone,

V1 USB port i use it for server fan ( modify to usb connector type ),.

the usb port pretty useful for sure,...

yeah i strip it all off, to prevent warm or overheat issue

after u replace the antenna,

u need to make sure u are setting the "Channel Width" to the highest on TP LINK Stock firmware

same goes apply to the "openwrt"

and make sure u are using Wireless N 300Mbps

i try to built image for it, lost in 15% ,.so complicated,.. no ideas at all what the pages talking,

i built follow the MR3220 V2 image,. but failed big time

too bad i am super poor in linux knowledge,.. can't be any help at all

the V2 cover is not as hot as V1 cover, but inside real temperature is quite warm i have to say base on my open V2 cover session experiment

yeah without any additional cooling, the V2 performances didnt drop, so that's the first best thing,

second best thing is the wireless N 300Mbps alone can use,. not like V1 wireless N bug issue cannot performs ,

V2 can use wireless N alone now without worry the wireless bug like happen in V1,

so far there is no official openwrt support V2 yet, guess we all have to wait

well too bad i am not a programmer or linux expert,

otherwise i will try to built new image for V2,.

now guess we have to wait for some pro out there to do so,...

bet V2 performs superb excellent in openwrt compare to V1

u need to select Option : Connecting automatic and set 0 to IDLE

Wireless G alone or wireless G+N both option will be fine,

Wireless G alone transmittion rate = 54Mbps

while wireless G+N transmittion rate = should be 65Mbps

as i am using wireless G+N now with Channel Width 20MHz

Wireless G+N if Channel Width 40MHz , transmittion should be around 130Mbps +/-

only wireless N alone with Channel Width 40MHz = 300 Mbps ( which only can really work in V2 only due to V1, V1.2, V1.3 all have wireless bug issue with Wireless N alone )

looks like tplink is trying to remove the signal % on coming latest firmware too,.

may be due to super bug anyway,.

but at least TP LINK service representative is response very fast

depends on whether u are using V1~1.3 or V2

for V2 wireless N 300Mbps channel width 40MHz alone is fine

where by V1~V1.3 model, can only use up to wireless G+N in channel width 20MHz,.. anymore futher it will cause the wireless Bug issue happen and wireless will be either connected but no response, or DC often

if your area is not very huge, Wireless G alone with prefer wireless Channel ( normally many choose channel 11 ) is fine,.
