I recently sold my HTC flyer away, top up RM200 and bought a 2nd hand tab 7.7.  So far happy with it, performance is way way better than Flyer and screen is sooo nice.

I previously used my Flyer as hotspot as I got a Maxis mobile net line.  The HTC hotspot will stay on all the time regardless with or without active connections from my ipad & pc.  But for tab 7.7, so long as there is no active connection, the hotspot somehow dropped out..

I am running on official ICS rom, with root and Touch CMW only.  Not using any custom rom (yet).  Any idea how to keep the hotspot alive all the time in this case ?

I need to go to setting, under Account and Sync -> disable the auto sync ?

Then on the desktop/home, toggle the various functions/button, disable the notification ?

Must do both ?
