ccs,

i just got a q5ii yesterday at dig mall. not sure if u were one the guys there!

after a few hours of trial, my comments:

.. overall, pretty good machine for its price. if one is looking for both media playback and streaming, this one does the job for most purposes.

.. via usb, plays mkv, mp4, flac, bdmv/iso, m2ts, no problem; smooth, no lag, no trouble at all.
.. picture quality good enough but i'll say it is a touch inferior to the ac ryan media player.
.. audio - via coaxial, dts and dolby works good, no problem
.. navigation is easy enough, has never hanged on me yet; response time fast enough for both remote and mouse; only when some files are slow to load, need to wait for it.

.. the machine was preloaded with a few things incl cloudtv, browser and youtube.
.. the chinese channels work ok somewhat but some don't work - duuno need registration or password or wat...?
.. with 10mb speed, majority of the ones that work, work fine, no lag, but a few 720p ones did jerk a bit.
.. cloudtv free trial - lots of chinese stuff, a lot more stable and easier to use that other addons but after trial, the free channels are very limited.
.. xbmc was partially installed at yr shop. xbmc can be a pain but after a while, u learn to navigate w/o getting lost!

like to get yr advice and tips on the following:

1.. if i have a 3rd party addon like cloudtv or xbmc (i did not see how it was done!), how do i install it?

2.. any suggested link(s) to some of the latest and good addons to get?

3.. the q5ii i bot yesterday, does it need any firmware update?

4.. volume control - why does it always go to max each time a channel is changed?

5.. the preloaded youtube has only audio, the video does not come out... why? now using browser for youtube.

6.. is it possible to save a file on an hdd via usb port while it is being streamed/played?

7.. at main user interface under applications, "apps store" can't open - wat is it for?

8.. how to get airplay going? i tried turning it at xbmc, but the ipad does not detect it.

if too much to answer here, can you direct me to a forum or links to read. tq for yr help.

support format should be same de, video playback if just using a 32' or 42' inch TV quality no different de

for q10ii compare with q5ii heat dissipation function is much better de, do not only see the spec in internet, really nid test the real unit de

thx

tis is interesting.

if true, this maxis 10mbps is not good at all. perhaps other users can confirm.

with unifi 10mbps, cloudtv was smooth as silk - during my free trial days.
